To those worried about gas prices

It is a reasonable concern.
You know what else will raise gas prices? Permanent IRGC control of the SOH. They cannot be allowed to charge fees for tankers to go through their preferred route. It is a ransom payment that the US should not and will not allow. It gives them a permanent stable income to continue to expand the IRGC and their proxies. They also would maintain the ability to close the straight whenever desired as a leverage play. That’ll also raise your gas prices.
The only long term solution here is short term pain for long term gain.

Irrelevant to the current discussion.
Debating whether we should or should not have struck Iran’s nuclear facilities and aimed to decapitate the IRGC is a separate issue.
