Parents who have kids that they cannot or will not feed certainly deserve ridicule. Taking care of your children's needs should be a matter of pride. Too many people don't feel ashamed for leeching off of others.

You want to ridicule the parents, fine.

But what usually happens in these situations is the parents don't give AF, ridicule or not, and the kids end up being the ones who are hurt by all of this. they are the ones who go hungry or get embarrassed at school, not the parents.

What say you?

I'd expect the government to do a poor job of administering it and they'd probably feed my kids slop. I'll pack their lunch myself and make sure they get good nutrition.

We have a lot of people who "thinK' they are conservative or republicans.

You are one of those.

Conservatives are against handouts when taxpayer money is used. You should volunteer to pay.

Huntsville did something a few years ago and said it was cheaper to give every kid free breakfast and lunch than the old way of doing it. Cant remember what exactly Bill Battle did though.

Do you think public schools are a handout?

What about roads?

What about bridges?

What about the military?

What about libraries?

What makes something, a "handout"?

That's all you got? How about a different idea?

How about this idea ?

You pay for it.

Liberal scum always has their hands in other people's pockets.

I am certain you give at least 10% of your gross income to charity , don't you ?

My Father-In-Law does and I think he's crazy , but at least he puts his money where his mouth is and I respect that.

Man, we are already paying for school for kids. AND they have to go by law.
Please if you can address this without diverting the thread.
We are paying for prisoners to be fed 3 meals a day.

Why not pay for kids to eat while at school under threat of arrest for their parents?

Moving the goalposts I see !

My grandfather paid for lunches of his 11 children , having as many as 8 in school at one time. He was a railroad worker and my grandmother never worked.

My parents had 4 boys , they paid for our lunches and refused discounts for having multiple kids playing things like Little League. My dad said he CHOSE to have four children and it was his responsibility.

My wife and I paid for our 3 boys if they wanted to eat lunch at school when they were in public school.

Now they are in private school and they take their lunches.

Change the law , don't feed the prisoners.

Why would I care if they get fed , they are criminals.

So you think someone in jail for not paying their taxes or a DUI deserves to starve to death? Seems a bit extreme.

You dont have the capability to look beyond a tunnel vision existence.

Some here can though. Nobody likes working to pay for other people who won't.
Kids can't.
I dont understand how you cannot see this.
They are innocence. Incapable of acquiring debt.
Why not just make lunch a part of ordinary school?

Where I live there are elementary schools that give free lunches without signing up for it. The % is so high they don’t bother.

I get that but not all people in prison are murderers or kid diddlers. Some go on to be productive members of society when they get out. I don't want to starve them to death either.

We should give free food to all citizens over the age of 62. If you can get social security, you can get free food.
