JFK was making noise about dismantling the CIA and turning US intel operations over to the G2 sections of the armed forces branches. Richard Helms, James Jesus Angleton and all the other higher ups at Langley were essentially protecting their own jobs.

JFK was also 100% opposed to escalating involvement in Vietnam.

This is the correct answer to the question, "If there is nothing to know, why not release it?"

The OP is correct. It will be a big nothing burger. IF there was anything to know, that evidence was destroyed before most of the posters on this board were alive.

We'll never know but those files that J Edgar Hoover had on everyone were juicy as frick. Too bad his secretary burned them all within minutes of him dying.

I want all JFK and MLK documents declassified. Something tells me the JFK files make the government look bad and the MLK documents make MLK himself look bad....and the government.
