Texas really screwed the pooch with their THC/hemp ban.
I would be pissed as hell if I were a Texan about their nanny state government and I could see that playing badly at the polls.

He had to have gotten paid off, likely by the liquor lobby. His stance on THC is absurd in this day and age.

Sometimes it's a mystery how the frick these dumb fricks ever get elected with this draconian bullshite
And then the figs have the nerve to wrap themselves in the American flag and claim they're for freedom and small government. frick every one of these fake conservatives.

Dan Patrick’s politics are straight out of 1992

Texas women favor Talarico over Paxton by a 53%-30% margin in the latest polling. That alone should scare the be-HAY-zus out of Texas Republicans.
Dan Patrick, the stupid one, and Ken Paxton, the creepy slimeball, are not winning their respective races this year, for Lt. Governor and Senator -- bookmark that.

It’s the same BS with all of these guys.
Abbott
Patrick
Paxton
Prioritizing their mega donors over all other Texans.
Drunk on power after 30 years of control. Never a thought that the public would vote for the opposition.

Not likely, he was. The owner of Sliver Eagle (Inbev distributor) is one of the biggest GOP state donors. As crony as it gets.
Patrick's buffoonery on the weed stuff hurts Paxton because Paxton's scandals are the type of crony nonsense people are sick of.
Then there is stuff like the HISD takeover that seem to be a disaster. Not that HISD was great before but i can speak from the private school side of it. There has been a mad rush out of HISD.

Don’t worry, the state will have a new toll road you need for your commute in a few years

I-10 apparently needs a new lane between voss and houston ave
Doggett and Mustang cat aren't going to move iron without road contracts

Brother, that is the intention. To destroy it from within. Then claim how terrible it is. We’re in the same boat with the exodus to private school.
It’s clearly a feature, not a bug.

houston ave
What's up with all the trucks still hitting the Houston Ave viaduct? That's not been fixed yet-- it. just. continues. And when it happens, a routine event, it shuts down the freeway, for hours-- and hours and hours.

I tried to avoid pointing an opinion on it one way or the other.
That said, i am extremely cynical to any improvements seen from the ghetto schools.
This isn't just a Houston issue. Austin folks have been salty towards Robinhood laws forever.
The state has long favored burbs and rural areas of texas for the cities. That might start biting them in arse. Especially as burb schools see more and more apartment dwellers flood their ISDs

I haven't completely soured on Abbott.
But Patrick is either a huge sellout or completely dumb MFer, and Paxton is just a Grade A POS whom I can't imagine even his "friends" actually like. Donald Trump has always been an a-hole, but people still wanted to hang out with him and even liked his company. I don't think even Paxton's closest allies want to be seen at Ruth's Chris or Truth BBQ with him.

Punishment for how the districts voted.
A few years ago they were removing school principles from schools that were improving, and where parents were happy with the principal. Parents protested to no avail.

That’s fair. But Abbott is either in lockstep, or just doesn’t exert any influence on Patrick or Paxton.

This is exactly right, if people cannot drag their sorry asses out for an hour on election day, they deserve the fricking psychos that get elected.
