That’s a tough question. Many people have flip flopped back and forth too many times to get a bead on it.

It’s obvious now the powers that be have been actively decreasing the strength of our military for awhile now

Thankfully Trump is changing that

China is not getting into a conventional war with us. They will frick us from within which is what they’ve been doing for decades.

The largest suppliers of oil to China were Iran and Venezuela.

Do we have leverage now? Do you think that if China thought they could have stopped this, they would have?

I don't know. There is definitely some new dynamics here.

Yes, and Trump wants to increase that by 50%. Not 15%, not 20%, 50%.

Now do Israel and the parasitic Muslim nations in the Middle East.

He isn’t wrong. The past 12 months American companies have developed ways of building smart missiles at scale to drastically speed up production numbers, by a factor of 10x by some. The military is also asking a 2-3x step up in tomahawk production.

Spot on. The more we off shore the more we lose critical manufacturing capability. Everyday low prices have significantly impacted our manufacturing resources.

I agree but I thought most here had concluded the MIC is part of the problem.

If you’re going to have the best military and technology, you can’t just turn supply and R&D on/off like a light switch. It must be sustained and funded which makes it look wasteful in times that it isn’t needed. Kind of like life insurance.

have to work like there’s a day we will have to fight China and in the next few years. Shipyards need to be running 24/7 365 at full capacity. Our missile and air defense production needs to increase tenfold which means new production lines need to be built. Drone production of all types as well as drone defense tech needs to have a very large budget to combat China. Artillery shell production needs to be 1.25 - 1.75 million shells per year. frick Europe since they seem to hate the U.S. because we make them pay for our weapons to go to Ukraine. The times of Europe hiding under our military umbrella is over so we have to stockpile weapons at a staggering rate over the next 5 years.

This is a retarded take.
We spend more than the next 18 countries, combined.

We’re okay.
“Defense spending” is $1 trillion ($1,000,000,000,000.00) and 13% of our budget.

We’ll be okay.

Once again, and I can’t stress this enough, is that this is a retarded take.

Your post is nothing but a paid advertisement. You know I'm sure the budget of the Pentagon. I'm sure you know the same Pentagon refuses a audit.
What I'm saying is look at the profits of the MiC over the last 40 years and tell me where the issue is.

The reactions we're seeing now are the wussification of parts of the conversative movement who convinced themselves after Iraq/afghanistan that complete isolationism is a possibility. It's not.
