He can make money globally and not in Canada. By driving Canadian jobs to the U.S. his American portfolio will increase in value. By dealing with China and the EU he can skim off Canadian dollars.
The Chinese will only trade with Canada if they come out ahead. The EU is dying of terminal wokeness. They sold their souls to the green energy delusion, Muslims, and Russia natural gas. The latest German election was heavy right because they are tired of funding the EU. Why would the EU want the failing Canadian economy unless they can sell the Canadians more than they buy?

op complained about Canada moving away from the US and getting closer to the EU. I simply pointed out that all of this is happening because of Trump and his hostile actions (tarrifs, rhetoric, etc) towards Canada, our biggest trading partner, since coming back into office.
The relationship between the two countries is strained only because of Trump's catastrophic diplomatic skills. Trump has been a disaster for the united states globally and has damaged our reputation almost irreparably. yes, we always had enemies, but now our friends are turning against us because of you know who.
