This morning Newsmax reports: Canada Intensifying Efforts to Join EU as US Trade Fight Intensifies
So this two year old Carney government wants to trash the relationship with the US. They want to build partnerships with EU countries in energy, strategic minerals, AI development and defense separate and apart from the US. Essentially they want to cut ties with the US. And their milquetoast people will support doing it. It is in large part because of TDS and I suspect jealousy of the US. I don't think things will return to normal if a democrat gets in. In the US I think we've had enough of those nasty Canadians.
They haven't been an independent country for that long and they never fought for anything (except hockey). The UK handed it all to them.

When your biggest trading partner starts behaving like a dick towards you, you return the favor..

Aren’t rats supposed to flee a sinking ship? They’re ditching the free ride and hopping on board a dingy.
I would love to see Alberta go independent.

Canada isn’t even a real country anymore. It’s a vassal state for the CCP and the globalists. Oh, and the “energy” the Canadians have isn’t wanted by the Europeans because it’s not “green.” Hell, Carney is a central banker who isn’t even Canadian. What a shite show.

They believe they are entitled to produce things for sale in the US, while disallowing US made items to be sold in Canada.
There is no way they are going to be able to do that with the EU either.
We want those jobs for our tax base here in the US.
They have been getting a free ride for a long time and are now upset it will no longer be free.
"equal treatment seems like a hardship when you are used to special treatment"

I consider that there are really the dicks. We don't boo their national anthem. They are insufferable twits.

We should cut Canada off entirely

I believe that will happen in the next two years. Maybe we can still cross the border??

We should just occupy them once they collapse

The US has expedited the completion of the bilateral agreement with Mexico. That's the trigger. As soon as it is signed (early October) the US will provide notice of cancellation to Canada for the current USMCA agreement. That starts the clock .... "6 months only, Vasilly"
The Canadian citizens (have been gaslit by their leadership .... courtesy of their state controlled media, But even most Americans don't understand how long this shift has been in development.
Here are the facts:
quote:
In December 2024 then Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, told President-elect Donald Trump that Canada could not comply with a renewed trade agreement based on reciprocity because:
(1) Canada had deindustrialized; their manufacturing was now “light” manufacturing and assembling of component goods made by others.
(2) Canada had legislated energy policy based on climate change, and high carbon emitting industrial production was no longer an option [coking coal burning etc.].
(3) The NATO military spending goal was too high for Canada to reach [they were 19th and it wasn’t a priority because the USA was the crutch].
(4) Internal provincial rules, restrictions and cross-border trade regulations did not align with a Canadian federal trade policy effort, and
(5) the political power of the ‘dairy cartel’ inside Canada tied the hands of Canadian trade representatives.
That was the gist of it. That’s why Canada cannot now or ever find a path to a U.S. reciprocal or balanced trade agreement.
#1 and #2 is specifically why Canadian govt officials repeatedly use the word “intertwined.” They say intertwined because they can no longer function separately. Canada is economically dependent on proximal and economic subsidies from the United States.
That outline by Trudeau led Trump to say that Canada should then become a 51st state….. And, well, you know the rest. Someone in Canada should ask Trudeau about it. The former Prime Minister has no reason to deny it, and too many people were witness.
Then, perhaps, Canadians will understand.

What???? I should wave the flag just because you erroneouslyand ignorantly think that sending to pick on our trading partner is good and warranted? You just cheer it on because deep down you and other MAGA apologists suffer from a chronic inferiority complex and your boy lollipop exploits it making you feel like someone else from outside is responsible, without ever realizing its your own that are taking you to the cleaners.

These guys love seeing Trump fight with everybody. I’m not sure they care what the end result is. I suspect they have this notion that every trade deal or tariff level has to be “equal.”
