Honestly, I’ve never heard of “being clever” as an insult. The definition of clever is “someone quick witted, intelligent or resourceful.”

Perhaps you should have phased it as “She thinks she’s being clever, but instead comes across as an idiot.”

Jackson is the type of Justice that could argue both sides of the subject and come to her ultimate conclusion depending on which side she aligns with, which is obviously the left.

If the Left was the defendant in a censorship case, she would obviously come to the conclusion that the censorship was justified or it was not censorship at all.

If the Right were the defendant, she would obviously find that it was draconian, authoritarian and fascist censorship.

I guess you'd have to assume then that she is extremely unself-aware.

Because even marginal self-awareness would never allow repeated attempts at "cleverness" to be openly decimated as has been the case in her situation. That really does imply a serious lack of intellect, or laziness in pursuit of her arguments.

I've not looked at her cases prior to the Supreme Court nomination, but if they were demonstrative of the same intellectual laziness and lack of rationale, it speaks volumes to how broken our confirmation process is.

From the Afghanistan withdrawal, to the open borders, to embracing DEI, to weaponizing the DOJ against Trump, to the autopen pardons, KBJ will go down as the biggest failure of the Biden presidency

You know, it's funny. I have the same feeling about these two as I did about Brandon's two press secretaries. I honestly thought that Jen Psaki, AKA "Circle-Back Sally," was about as bad as somebody could've been in that role. But then the little kewpie-doll KJP came along and I realized that I was wrong. If even possible, KJP was much worse.

Same thing with Sotomayor and KBJ. I honestly thought that Sotomayor was bottom-of-the-barrel as a Supreme Court Justice. But then KBJ comes along and I discovered that Sotomayor was a terrible choice for the Supreme Court but certainly not the worst.
