But they don't like that kind of 24/7 commitment and would miss air conditioning, TV, eating out at Applebee's and Chilis and hooking up with trashy badge bunnies.

It's always funny listening to people defend our cop culture. Especially cops. I've heard all the chest beating from almost every department I've worked with. I'm sure these same douche bags are all over Facebook talking about how restrained they are, and posting videos on the selves savings cats.

Why do people fight with police? You're not gonna win. They will bring 20, 50, or 100 if they have to.

I have no sympathy for people who act this way. Go to jail and if you have a problem, fight it in court.

I agree but progressives think meritocracies are sexist and racist, hence race and gender quotas and the lowering of standards.

Well it's also true that as the state grows, it'saw enforcement must become more violent. Critical thinking, problem solving, and de-escalation are meaningless buzzwords in today's LEO culture.

They’re sheepdogs, mane. A thin blue line.

If this guy was still in society, he might still be wandering around in an altered mental state bothering people.

Since IQ has become an issue, I'd wager the IQ of Mr. Franks was well below that of the average of the police officers on that department.

It is pretty easy not to resist arrest. That doesn't take a great deal of intelligence.

Ok. I thought for some reason that this was marksville. A very disturbing video to watch. Also at the very end one of the cops mentions an earlier incident with the guy's son where apparently the cop destroyed some personal property of the guy.

Solid advice for a paranoid schizophrenic (which the police knew). Perhaps you could’ve explained it to him satisfactorily.

Terrible situation, the cops are not without blame in this man's death. Here I go again...., if Mr. Frank simply complies with the LEO's request to get off the tractor there's over a 99% chance Mr. Frank is simply arrested for whatever warrant he had and he bails out of jail later.

It is also easy to not kill a paranoid schizophrenic. The police should have called a 5’2” nurse weighing 105 lbs from a local nursing home and she could’ve probably negotiated the arrest without killing anyone.

Yes it is. If the police came and told me there's a warrant, I would say "OK, let's go." I wouldn't sit there, taunt them, and try to fight. It's idiotic and you can't win. This dude has no one to blame but himself.

Now if he was on drugs or had mental issues, that's more of a grey area. Some people are just crazy and don't know what they're doing. I don't know this guy's history, though (most small town PD's know who the crazy people are).

EDIT: Appears he was a schizo. That changes things. Those people literally don't know what they're doing and Police definitely need more training on handling these cases.

That's not what this guy was doing.

He was asking to see the warrant and did not make any attempt to flee or make a violent gesture.

For sure, it's just as you say.

Maybe we should make the sheriff position electable by parish/county so that public opinion will be a factor in local law enforcement so they can finally move away from their iron fisted campaign on killing citizens.

If Brett Favre would have just thrown it away instead of throwing the ball over the middle, the Saints would still be without a SuperBowl.

Yeah I did, the worst part of that video is when one cop says, "He's dead weighting us", as they literally drag a dead man away...., that's the most disturbing part, they didn't have a clue he was dead.
