Democrats lying again saying Republicans dont care about vets.

Per Ted Cruz

quote:

@jonstewart you're wrong here. The bill gives a $400B blank check—separate from vets care—for unrelated pork that will supercharge inflation. I support the PACT Act & the $679.4B it would dedicate to vets. It’s ppl trying to use PACT to shovel more pork who are exploiting vets.

LINK

If Dems really care, they can make this a one-page bill and get it passed.

I’ve said this a million times. Bills should be limited to 5 pages and read aloud on TV before they’re voted on. Sick of this shite.

I second that motion....

The American people are kept in the dark, and it is intentional!

Yep. I’m always amazed how these thousand page bills pop up over night ready for voting. There’s no way they’ve been read. No way.

Boebert is getting pushback for actually wanting time to read the bills

quote:

@laurenboebert

Democrats being outraged that I’m pushing to force a five-day period for legislators to actually read legislation before they pass it tells you everything you need to know about how they think government should work.

Know what’s in the bill BEFORE passing it. Pretty simple.

Almost every news organization has vets worked up saying republicans hate vets because they're leaving this part out. I've already been permabanned from Reddit/veterans for saying this. FB same thing.

Let every young person see this, so that they will know that the United States of America now considers its Vets injured in the line of duty to be mere political footballs.

Aside from the $400B steal, I question how will the $679B be spent. That's a lot of billions. Are they just handing it over to the terribly inefficient VA system. They should hand out vouchers and let the veterans seek whatever treatment they need to private sector medical community.

Jesus H. Christ.

How is that money being spent? Paid directly to vets exposed to burn pits in settlement for their injuries?

The 27 or so republicans voting against the vets bill was done on purpose.
The dems need campaign material by painting the repubs as being against vets. Dem and repub collusion = remember it's the swamp

Anyone else realizing that the dollar is gonna crash? There is no intention of ever being to pay off our debt.

They are not even trying.

This is a smash and grab before it all turns to shite.

That's as dumb as saying the tax code should be a few pages. Even African countries don't have stuff like that. Things need to be explained.'

I mean what you are saying goes against what the Supreme Court just ruled - that the EPA should not be making laws, that Congress should be including MORE stuff in its laws and nearly everyone on this board said "hooray".

Okay if hooray then get ready for 1000 page laws, even the most simplified thing about carried over interest that I am reading now - the SIMPLIFIED EXPLANATION is tons of pages and thats not the law!

Apparently, there are about 3.5 million vets suffering from cancers that have recently been deemed service connected due to "burn pits" and exposure to things that cause these (mostly upper airway and lungs) cancers. But it comes out to $194,000 per person. I don't know how the money is used or over what period of time (Years I would guess) this money would be spent. You can bet they will use so as not to lose it if it's handed over to the VA system.
