What are your thoughts on the bill and the pork Dems are trying to sneak in? I’m sure you’re renouncing such despicable behavior

That's as dumb as saying the tax code should be a few pages.

What's dumb is that you don't realize you made the majority of this boards point for needing a smaller fed govt.

For the third time, can someone show me where it says in the bill, there's a 400b blank check?

To his credit, Toomey was a stick in the mud about this with the first vote. It doesn't explain why the 30 other Senators flipped their votes.

There is a fundamental difference between a vote for a bill before it goes to conference committee and a vote for a bill after it does so.

Before, you can vote for a popular bill with the expectation that any deficiencies can be worked out in conference, especially if such deficiencies only exist in one of the versions. After, you are stuck with the bill as is.

I think the Republicans let themselves be set up here, and the Dems were more than willing to help. More should have stood with Toomey to get the rewording done in the original bill. But, now the damage is done.

It doesn’t exist. Many here are merely parroting right-wing propaganda that they overheard on Fox “News” or gleaned from social media without ever having verified the claims that they unwittingly accepted.

Here’s the bill that’s stalled. It doesn’t mandate spending for anything other than matters relating to healthcare or compensation of veterans who’ve been rated for exposure to toxins.

If Shumur was any kind of man, which we know he's only a jackass cowardly Dem, he'd admit he's a crook openly.

Dems really care, they can make this a one-page bill and get it passed.

They don't, neither do Republicans. No one can seriously look at how we take care of vets and think it's something we prioritize.

Who was the pearl clutcher that started the thread about how “republicans voted against the vets”? Tried to tell that moron the democrats loaded down the bill

Exactly. They don’t require it go to vets. So it could literally be anything the Dems want.

What are you reading? There's a whole lot of fluff in there that has more to do with inflating an incompetent VA than helping any of us.

Why? He clearly didn’t read the bill. If he did, he didn’t understand it. The beautiful part is he is parroting what the media told him while scolding others for that same thing. Classic liberal projection. And you fell for it.

It’s littered throughout the entire bill, dude. Did you think there was a section that just said “blank check”. There are dozens of provisions in that bill that do nothing for veterans. “Study” after “study” for starters. Have you read the bill?
