Just how excited were you to find out about what the USA Constitution guaranteed us? Once you realized that the current SCOTUS looks at the Constitution as it was written, did you not understand just how free our founders intended for us to be? Surely, you must say, we are the masters!!

What was your favorite decision?

Let me know when they actually interpret 2A correctly and undo all the damage they did making up shite with the commerce clause.

Scalia called Thomas a blood thirsty originalist. We are just now starting to understand why. Thomas was just buying time until the court leaned towards his correct judicial philosophy. Now he’s out for blood and I’m so glad it is happening under Biden’s administration. Poetic justice.

Mine was the EPA ruling. I know killing babies is terrible but to be able to cut the federal government down a notch or two was awesome.

Oh I agree and I believe the timing is perfect for the challenges. Commerce Clause, 1934 Firearms Act, etc....

Every judge in the country should be the same. There is the law of the land or there isn’t. Period

Yep. Dobbs just made abortion a states' rights thing again, like it should be.

The EPA ruling forces Congress to actually do their jobs and stop delegating duties to appointed agencies who become de facto policy makers.

School prayer was just icing on the cake.

Combination of Bruen and the EPA rulings... used together they could really knock both the feds and the states down a peg or two.

thank God that Trump was elected in 2016. he appointed 3 SC justices, who should be there for many, many years

not to mention a lot of federal appeals justices, one of whom lifted the ban on masks in airports/airplanes

Same. As far as Dobbs…Free will is a bitch and we will all answer for our sins. I’m reverently appreciative they ruled the way they did.

The EPA ruling was huge for our survival as a country though.

The sentence could literally be "Do not infringe" and in those three words they would find an "unless".

Oh wait..

Why doesn't the ruling get applied instantly? There are words in the policies by the three letter agencies right? You can put every word up against the supreme court decision and those policies should live or die by that. Why do we need to wait for challenges. Unconstitutional is incompatible by government standards.

If you want the court to recognize the original constitution then say goodbye to your guns. The right to keep in bear arms isn’t in there. It was an “amendment” to the original constitution.

This is one of of the most beautiful statements I’ve ever read on any chat board.

So nicely stated!

Ummm, That’s not what originalist means.
Originalist refers to his view of the Constitution and it’s amendments as being interpreted as of the time it was written. (Including the amendments)
Not that he only believes in the “original” Constitution (I.e. without amendments)
