I’m as sick of war as anyone else but if Putin ever makes the miscalculation that Hitler did and think the world is to weak to fight then he will attack a NATO country and article 5 will be in play. Putin has to think the U.S. and Europe is willing to fight or he may go after the Baltic States. Sanctions will not deter Putin or XI or any other bad actor. Only the threat of bombs will do that. We have to learn the lessons of history. The world could have stopped Hitler cold at the start if the world had just banded together and told him no you can’t have this and if you try to take it it’s your arse. Instead the world gave him territory after territory until finally the world said no. But by that time it was to late and when the world finally said no he didn’t believe them and tried to take Poland and WW2 started. Then the Allies has to fight across all the land Hitler took and even some they gave him to try to appease him to avoid war. Try that today with Russia and it will be a bloodbath of epic proportions with modern day weapons. It will make the death and destruction of WW2 look like a car crash on the highway somewhere that a couple of people got killed in. We can’t afford to fight across all this land that Russia takes like we allowed Hitler to do in WW2. The weapons are to advance today. The more land the world let’s Putin takes the more he will go after and the more belligerent he will come. We have seen this playbook before and it cost millions of lives plus made the Holocaust possible. Let’s learn from history instead of repeating it. We can’t slog across Europe today like we did back then without killing many more millions than we did back in WW2. If Putin wants a fight let’s do it on his doorstep and not have to fight and retake country after country before we can finally get to Russia. If we have to fight let’s spill more Russian blood than Allied blood. It’s better to get tough and risk war now than later. I can promise you that if we don’t stand up and risk a war now that there will be one later. That’s just the way you have to play it with dictators and despots. They can’t be appeased or reasoned with. Diplomacy only works with them when they need to buy time to strengthen their hands. Diplomacy is only a tactic to them and they don’t mind breaking agreements later if they have to. Neville Chamberlain showed us that. We have to let Putin know he risks a fight if he does not change coarse. He wants to stay in power more than anything. If he thinks the U.S. and NATO is willing to fight if he doesn’t stop then he will back down. He won’t risk losing a war and being tried and hung like Saddam. It’s time to take a hard line with Russia or risk China, North Korea, and Iran going on the attack that will start a World War.

Russia, does not have to attack the US or Canada.

It is also has no value to them, plus it would take way to many loyal troops to provide security forces.
