The fact that Trump is changing the entire world order is undeniable. The UK and EU have been put on notice for months.... Trumps just letting his strategy play out.
As the light increases, the roaches will run to the dark corners...

For the UK to "explode" would require some courage and grit by its citizens....
obviously, those qualities hardly exist within their native populace.

Argentina made that fatal mistake before. If you think the US is going to militarily support Argentina in another foolish attempt to forcibly take the Falklands you're sadly mistaken

The sensationalism over this issue is impressive.
A) The Falkland Islands residents want to remain British. There has been two referendums - most recently 2013 - both returned 96+% for remaining British and both had 90+% turnout (imagine such numbers in any large country election!)
B) Argentinas armed forces are pitiful. For all the Royal Navy has taken flack recently the UK would push their shite in as soon as any fighting started. They are decades behind.
C) The UK has supported the US significantly more in the Middle East than the US helped the UK in the Falklands. If you want to know why we haven't attacked Iran with full support ask the families of the 183 killed and 3000+ injured in Basra and the rest of Iraq. (It's also glossed over that Trump didn't tell any allies he was doing it then screamed for help ??) The populous has never forgiven Blair for that and never will. (I would say everyone was fine with Afghanistan/Al Qaeda)
D) A ship turning up doesn't equate to the US are going to help the Argies storm the beaches

This is all bullshite. The Nimitz is on a move from Washington to Virginia for decom work. They left Washington state like a month ago and are transitioning normally. They should be up here in the US in a few weeks normally when they were supposed to. This trip has been planned for a long long time.

Alignment with nations in the Americas > Alignment with nations in Europe

They want to stay with the UK obviously. It is a country full of British people.
Posted on 4/27/26 at 3:00 pm to AGGIES
Why would we divert the Nimitz to a region that really is not all that important?

What do the Falkland Islanders want? Stay with England, go with Argentina, or Independence? I'm for whatever they want.

Sounds like a UK problem! We should kick their asses outta our hemisphere same as the Chinese and Russians.

No good reason. A poor reason would be to show up the UK.

Plus the Nimitz is set to be decommissioned. It's on it's way to Newport News as we speak. Moving down the Pacific Coast right now

The US also provided the UK with 300,000 gallons of fuel for their fleet.
They couldn't afford their military then, its much much much worse today.

Does our love for all things Argentine stop with hot women like Gabriela Sabatini (pics in the other thread), or will we now be ok with importing Argentine beef? Because they have some damn good beef.

"During the 1982 Falklands War, the British lost seven ships to enemy action, including two Type 42 destroyers (HMS Sheffield, HMS Coventry) and two Type 21 frigates (HMS Ardent, HMS Antelope). Other losses included the container ship Atlantic Conveyor, the landing ship RFA Sir Galahad, and the landing craft LCU F4."
Britain would win, but I don't know so much about the immediate shite pushing.
