Just makes no sense. America is the land of opportunity. "Rich people" cycle in and out. Most fortune 500 CEOs come from modest upbringings. Aside from a few old money families, wealth is built and lost within 3-4 generations. People should be encouraged to raise their kids well and help them out any way possible. I hope i can leave my kids substantial amounts of money when I die. We don't need to feel bad for immigrants that come here and have a hard go at it. Every citizen of the USA has some great grandparent that came here and had a hard go at it. And that was when there were no free safety nets or welfare provided.

If your whole identity is thinking rich people are bad and need to support you, does that mean you never want to be wealthy? And wat happens if you get what you want and all the rich people go away? Who will fund your lifestyle at that point?

There's a reason this country is so great. It's the laws, rules, tradition, and values on which it was built. The policies and cultures from terrible countries have no place here. Go be communist in a communist country, or fix your own dumpy country. It is just outrageous that we allow people like this to come here in the first place, much less give them resources and a platform to trash our amazing society.

If progressives could do math, they wouldn’t be progressives.

I mean you had a guy in another thread today that doesn't think millionaires pay taxes. You can't reason with people like that.

When you think money is your problem, you can only think of ways to get it instead of actually solving the problem.

Instead of doing what they should do and go out and earn it, they prefer to "legally" steal from those who have it.

Before you can steal legally, you must make your mark out to be a boogeyman which is what libs do with the rich.

I've worked in finance all my career. The rich get fricked at a disproportionate rate. Rich pay 36% in taxes while some trailer trash bitch with 5 kids doesn't work but somehow gets a "refund" of $9,000. This is just fricking people even worse. If you don't think they pay their fair share you should dig harder

It's to sow discord in the young people.

That's all it is.

You sow that discord and they (young people) will carry out the "leader's" desires which it to take over the country.

Look back at history. That's how every communist regime came into power.

This is true. Unfortunately though for them in this country, once someone buys a house and starts making a little money, they really see how, not just the rich, but even the middle class gets screwed on taxes.

Nobody's saying that but should they pay more of a percentage than you or I do?

on their income...at a rate that is reasonably in line with everyone else...sure.

On their wealth...absolutely not. 100% no.

We had a 72% tax braket until the 1970s then we destroyed the tax system. Has our society improved or devolved since the 1970s? We were arguably a greatest country in 1970 than we are now.

They don't pay income taxes because they claim they don't have income.

They take loans out of the bank at extremely generous interest rates like 1%, and they can pay 1% on a 30 million loan rather than 37% on that 30 mil.

They can buy whatever they want with that loan so basically it's income but it's not and they can basically just do that over and over whereas the average person could never.

Buy, borrow, die. It's a big party and you ain't in it.

It’s funny that Bernie screamed tax the millionaires until someone explained to him that he was one.

Now he screams tax the billionaires

The rich have done a fantastic job of getting the middle class to hate the poor instead of the rich.

Imagine being so envious of others being successful, you want to bring them back to the leech’s level to where success is punished.
