This statement is misleading as well as demonstrably incorrect in it’s characterization in every metric except black household, that’s only if you’re factoring in the failures of 60’s democrats upon them.

The top 1% earn around 23% if income in the country and pay 44% of federal taxes. That's 1% of the population paying almost half of all federal taxes. The top 10% pay over 70% of total Federal taxes. The bottom 50% of the country (half the population) pay 3% of Federal taxes. Some supposed failure to tax the rich is clearly not the problem.

Tell me you don't understand taxes very much without telling me you don't understand taxes very much.

They don't pay income taxes because they claim they don't have income.
Sure they do. Do you think Elon doesn't pay income tax when he is compensated via shares in company stock? I mean, his exercising of them this month is going to generate an income tax bill in the $40-50 Billion range (very conservative estimate), but sure, no income taxes paid.

They can buy whatever they want with that loan so basically it's income but it's not and they can basically just do that over and over whereas the average person could never.
Literally everyone can do it, the only difference is the scope. Hell, the largest benefactor of this exact principle is the middle class, just with a different asset.

Interesting. I find it funny how much this has gotten passed around these days, that people think they would go to all these links to avoid paying income taxes, only to allow these assets to go into their estate tax calculations instead

Most everyone is liberal until they start earning income and paying taxes. Tax the Rich people are pathetic, bottom feeders, who provide nothing to society.

Why should the middle class hate anyone?

No.

I can’t imagine that. Not sure if you’re casting that aspersion at me.

It seems the estate tax then was 77% and Reagan lowered it to 50% in the mid 80's. Allowing for great transfer of wealth to the next generation.

Agree. I think what might be more practical is placing limits on corporate stock buybacks. When executive compensation is pegged to stock evaluations you incentivize them to juice the stock price with whatever savings they get from corporate tax cuts.
Corporate stock buy backs used to be illegal and we did just fine without them.

Depending on what end of the middle class someone resides on they might not be doing much better than the poor.

I've worked in finance all my career. The rich get fricked at a disproportionate rate. Rich pay 36% in taxes while some trailer trash bitch with 5 kids doesn't work but somehow gets a "refund" of $9,000. This is just fricking people even worse. If you don't think they pay their fair share you should dig harder
I think you’re making some inferences from my question, which I was not alleging. I’m not sure what you do in finance, but in 2026, the 35% income tax bracket covers a lot of people that I’m not sure I would call “rich”, although this is raising a good question about what group(s) we’re discussing.
I certainly agree that lower income people should have more skin in the games than they do.

That's all it is.
You sow that discord and they (young people) will carry out the "leader's" desires which it to take over the country.
Look back at history. That's how every communist regime came into power.
This is the correct answer. A good portion of this generation has been indoctrinated to believe that it’s not fair for these people to have so much money. It doesn’t matter to them if they worked for it or not. They are taught to hate them. They firmly believe that their wealth should be distributed amongst the population so they don’t have to work. So much of this generation doesn’t want to grow up and be responsible. They would rather live in a total surveillance state with no freedoms and not have to work or grow up than to work and grow in the American Way.
They have been raised to aspire for socialism.
