Man, those 104% tariffs come with some crazy math.

I have a serious question, what if they can’t buy or build their product in America because of a lack of factories or industry that provides what they sell?

True. There are other things to do than watch TV. There are used TV's out there for purchase. These tariffs are not going to last long. Other countries are going to come to the table and negotiate. We've been in a trade war since the end of WWII, we've just been losing.

Sorry not sorry

American workers should have NEVER been made to compete with people on slave wages

This is all meaningless however, with the AI and automation revolution the value of 'cheap labor' is about to be undercut severely

Countries that made cheap labor their selling point are about to be SOL

Unfortunately there is not barely enough manufacturing in the States currently to supply so many businesses in this country that import goods they sell. So this whole thing is about to tank on a scale never seen before, b/c business after business is about to have to close. I know a lot of business owners that are looking to find the products they want to sell (they usually get from China) that are manufactured in the states and they’re just not here yet. It is about to get rough. Buckle up everybody.

I haven't had to buy anything other than groceries since this started. Surely Americans can restrain from buying wants vs needs for a few weeks while this all shakes out

Americans do absorb the costs of tariffs.

There’s no serious dispute over that.

I do not understand this type of view.

The U.S. imported $463 billion worth of goods from China in 2025. That is 1.5% of our total economy. Even if that totally vanished overnight, which it will not, i fail to see how this is some sort of cataclysmic event to the economy. We throw around $400 billion like its Halloween candy these days.

If that's the number this small business owner is throwing out then they should immediately shut the doors because they can't do basic math.

$24K to $346K is a 1230% increase.
