More than that, probably.
Problem is, that debt does exist, and send out checks just makes it worse.
But, hey, Trump’s doing it so it must be right.

Do Republicans or Democrats control if Congress is in session?

It's from all of the fraud, waste and abuse that DOGE uncovered on top of revenue profit from tariffs
The Government Accountability Office reported way more fraud than DOGE ($521 Billion) and it has independent verification.
We've collected $210 Billion in tariffs since January 2025.
Even if we recovered every bit of the waste/fraud/improper payments, etc. identified above (which we won't) and used every penny of the tariffs, we'd still be roughly half of the bribe short.

If Trump has shown us anything it’s MAGA is ok with lots of things as long as it’s their own doing it. Homosexuality, Wasteful spending, price controls, pointless war, stimulus checks, handouts, etc.
That’s the bad thing about Populism.

Why don’t you provide a spreadsheet of the cost of all this promises the hard left radical left or making? Well, I’m not a big fan of government spending 1.2 trillion of taxpayer money going back to taxpayers at least a decent start.

Why da frick did you add this at the end?
No United States soldier ever laid down their life for your right to vote.
That was colonial troops that did that.

On Citizens or illegal immigrants?
The spending won't go away and if it does, collapse ensues. It's really a matter of what the spending is on and whether or not it grows the economy or stagnates it. Note that the Fed lowers rates when the Dems are in power, and raises it when Reps are.
There are two polar choices. Pick your poison. But check out France and the UK before you vote.

Why would they need to buy your vote if they had already won the House and Senate, i.e. election already held…?
