I don’t understand why people are opposed to gay marriage. Who cares if dudes like dude and lesbians like lesbians?

Yeah. There’s no way that they would stop Catholic agencies overseeing adoptions or have parachurch organizations sued to host a gay wedding.

The slope isn’t just slippery. It’s icy. And anyone claiming there’s no slippery slope just isn’t paying attention.

If same sex marriage is federally protected/codified, can a gay couple then sue a pastor who refuses to perform their ceremony due to his/her religious beliefs?

That's the problem. Do what you want, legally, but don't tell me I have to celebrate it for your aggrandizement.

Individual states should make this decision.

Like for abortion.

Abortion can't be "taken with you" across state lines like marriage. How do you deal with the Contracts Clause issues?

For the same reason states are not required to recognize other marriages violator of their laws.

For example, if Utah legalized polygamy, Louisiana is not required to give those papers "full faith and credit," which is the mechanism by which other states "public acts and records" are to be recognized by other states.

Screw that. Give those degenerates an inch and they want to go down on the whole thing. Piss off.

How about no

marriage is between a man and a woman with the ultimate goal of procreation. Gays can have a civil union etc but in the eyes of God it is not marriage.

Hence my distaste for the concept of the "gay community" with their groupthink and terrorist like tactics.

But individual gay people who can separate from the hive are ok to me. I like independent thinkers.

I'm not going to convince anyone, most of us have already made up our minds but I do believe in protecting freedoms I may find distasteful. I have not always been on the same side of this argument btw.

No political party should do anything with gay marriage or straight marriage or dog marriage or any marriage except say marriage should have nothing to do with government.

I know that Trump isn’t a conservative or had been a republican previously, but he’s still our only President that was for gay marriage.

Biden might be now, but he wasn’t before and we have the tapes.

Hilarious seeing closet groomers come in and deflect. The government is so far up in marriage but since they are working on something that favors groomers you’re in full support.

Guess what… it goes both ways. You can support politicians that don’t want the government to sanction of your d**k liking. Ask Peter Theil.
