re: The Reflecting Pool Now Has Nanobubbler Technology for Algae

That's really not how it works when it comes to algae. Unless you are going to remove the heat in DC and have a good flow to the water, what's on the bottom is largely irrelevant you'll take care of the algae that would attach to the bottom like you see in swimming pools. The chemical concentration that deltaland talks about could help short term though, but if the filtration architecture is old, you'll have other problems because of the chemicals themselves in side of the plumbing.

quote:We recently had a dead algae problem in our pool and wife has done all kinds of chemicals. Even put some kind of liquid magnet to attract the copper that results from killing something?? We've vacuumed it probably 3 times this week but we've had probably 8 inches of rain this week. Couldn't tell you how many times we "wasted" water to get the pool level back to normal. It's still pretty hazy but we'll work on that now.

What does that have to do with the algae issue that occurs naturally?

Anything the man does they have to go scream opposite.. it's a trend that im also seeing on this website.

The actual video's of people jumping in and furiously peeling up the sealant are infuriating. Imagine being so infected with TDS that you're willing to risk arrest and destroy a national landmark meant to remember the breaker of chains. Yall should go look at all the vids available on X. Also, let me know when you find them because I want to see them too.

My Dad used to lower the level in the pool just a little then put 2 hoses in and then go to the ice house on Gentilly road and buy about 200 or so pounds of block ice, make them into chunks and as they melted he would then shock the pool. He would do that about 2× every summer.
Combination of flow and moderate temperature control combined with the shock treatment usually worked....plus he would get one of his engineer friends to make real sure everything was working right . Usually a case of beer and grill out was all it took

I say don’t guard it. Set up high tech surveillance cameras equipped with infrared, night vision, and facial recognition to catch them in the act and plaster their face all over the news.

So you going to blame fertilizer now? This happens every few years. My original point was that the dark liner in combination with the air temperature and minimal circulation is inviting an algae bloom . You have almost stagnant tepid water.....the add in the sunlight and it goes into overdrive.
This is more on the Park Service than the contractor.

I’d just run a constant feed and bleed from the Potomac. Get some flow in there.

That protestor looks like a villain from a bad 90s cartoon.

One of the characteristics of Narcisstic Personality Disorder is refusal to accept responsibly and to blame others. Trump’s claim of the reflecting pool being sabotaged is a perfect example of this.
