The whole point of the post, to which you responded, was that we should not let them develop the capability to wreak nuclear destruction. That is a possible FUTURE event. Your question about the past and present is a non sequitur.

Intelligence analysis from both Israel and the U.S. have claimed for decades that Iran doesn’t possess nearly enough, if any, enriched uranium which would be required to build one weapon.
I must have missed that news. Could you provide a credible link for that claim?

Our own intelligence essentially ruled out the Iranian threat possibility.
Bombing countries on a weak current threat assessment because one day in the FUTURE they might be a threat …That just sounds like forever wars.

People calling this a debacle re definitely dumbasses. We have made significant progress in weakening Irans military to a level that most of its neighbors can likely handle. It would be nice to get the uranium but I’m not sure that they couldn’t just buy it again from Russia or China. The question is can we kill enough of these radicals to give the people of their country a chance at basic human rights. A country that could get along in the world without the need to threaten all with nukes?

Hell no.
Enough of you liberals kissing their goat herder asses.

There is one way to avoid forever wars, and one way only, that is to form a one world government and force everyone to live by its strictures. That is a cure worse than the disease. Actually, the second way to avoid forever wars is to submit to being ruled.
In the mean time we must rule or be ruled. And if we rule we will always be engaged in war.

The thousands of American families that have lost a loved one at the hands of these terrorists might disagree with your bullshite.

Bruh, we’ve been taking out the leaders for six weeks.
They think we’ve already won the war somehow despite not being able to name what we’ve won or why having won the war so bigly we can’t just leave right now.
At some level they know we cant do what we need to do to actually win without full regime change but can’t accomplish that without a ground invasion.
So they’re left mentally rationalizing where things stand while clinging to every Truth post not realizing or being willing to admit we’re actually stuck and Trump is just bluffing trying to keep the oil market from exploding with the strait closed.
We currently lack a clear path to achieving what he actually set out to do which is stop future enrichment and control their oil vis-à-vis China, none of which has happened to date and none of it will so long as the IRGC runs Iran because it’s intrinsically opposed to what is in their best interest.
So instead of acknowledging that they attack anyone who points it out even though most like myself are in favor of what they want and are just unwilling to let us go any further down our current path because it would lead to a ground war that would cost far too much relative to what it would gain.

That was a false flag operation.
You do know that we already were bombing them before that incident, right?

At this point, how do you allow any regime guy to lead the country?
This board told me we already effected regime change though.

No one wants the IRGC to stay in power, we just lack the means to do anything to fix the issue at a cost that isn’t prohibitive in American lives.

We have!
Shutting down the Strait to any ships going into or from Iran. Also, the economic clamp down Scott Bessent has talked about.

Think about it. The president is OK with concluding this war without regime change.
What does that tell us?
The US unfreezes the assets to the tune of 20 billion, they can probably acquire some more uranium in the FUTURE.

Among many other military moves made by the US -blockades, political pressure from friendly Gulf States and allies, Venezuela as our new hot substitute teacher - this: killing the next man up, has proven the best move.
There’s not a lot of downside (outside of the cost of bullets) in simply staying where we are and playing whack a mole for as long as they provide us moles to whack.
They’ll tire of it when they are being led by some 22 year old mullah threatening us with a 22

A ground invasion, US troops on the ground, would be a colossal mistake. Catastrophic.
Leaving now would be a failure to achieve all objectives. But at least there is some way to save face. Even though it will be expensive.
