Hell it’s already bad. I got out 5 years ago and the leadership was already atrocious.

I served in the USMC from 1993 to 2001.

There is not enough sad emojis on this planet to describe how all of this is making me feel.

What will retaking the oath do?

Nothing whatsoever.
It's apparently kind of like Anabaptists.

One legitimately threatens their power structure and the other one does not.

That should answer your question.

Love this part:
quote:

particularly actions associated with extremist or dissident ideologies

How are extremist or dissident defined? Is voting for conservatives an extremist dissident action? Questioning election integrity or support for pro-life organizations?
The terms will be defined on the fly as needed.

Oh boy! The Purges are in full swing now.

Did you feel this way when ANTIFA and BLM were mostly peacefully protesting and ransacking government buildings, including federal courthouses?

It was an Army veteran and BLM fascist who shot and killed a Dallas police officer who happened to be a petty officer in the Navy Reserve. What about those types? What about the Navy petty officer who got confrontational with Trump supporters, yanking away their sign while yelling "Fck Trump!"? What about her?

What are they going to do when retention rates drop like a stone through a rotten floor?

Remember when current and former military brass condemned the call-up of the National Guard to quell riots in Washington, DC, among other places? Remember when they told soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines to "honor the Constitution and their oath?" Now they seem to relish the idea of the military injecting themselves as long as they're not called up to stop Leftists and BLM from destroying public property. Only these mythical "white supremacists" need to be stopped militarily. They're going to have a really hard time getting white kids to join up.

I wouldn’t bank on them not running into “problems” if it ever got that far.

They may have problems with it. Not moral ones but competence ones.

Granted, holding an M16 sideways may actually do what it is intended to do when these idiots hold a pistol “gangsta style”.

I would just not take it. The first oath you take is your agreement. I didn't agree to this new oath. This wasn't in our enlistment agreement. frick off.

Not taking it means a discharge.

Would they extend an honorable discharge to anyone telling them to frick off or will they try to stick them with a less than honorable discharge?

Thank God, I already retired.

I’m not sure what they will do to an Officer that refuses. I would hope that some would, but never know these days. A lot of people will not stand on principle anymore.

Complying with this new BS is actually a betrayal of the real Oath.

My guess is that an Enlisted Sailor will be given an Honorable Discharge or allowed to serve out current enlistment.

I don’t think that I can support any of my sons joining us this new military. It really ruins all my plans for them. Hopefully, God will show us the right path.

I have friends with children getting appointments to USNA or ROTC...they are saying that they will tell their MAGA sons to keep quiet and play the game. Bold strategy, Cotton.
