You are smoking dope and you must not travel much, but I do and I have all my life! Yes. Atlanta and some cities in Tennessee have had a renaissance and Econ development. But this is a small list of the many that have gone down the shitter below.
New Orleans
Detroit
Baltimore
Memphis
Cleveland
San Francisco
Los Angelas
Portland
DC
Philadelphia
& Wait til’ you see what this communist does to NYC
*** and much much more…

As a native New Yorker, I'm telling you and the other doofus that wants to play stupid numbers games, you're full of crap. NYC is a shittier place than it was 10-20 years ago. Fact, deal with it.
We know crime now is much lower than 20 years ago, though, so what parameters are you specifically referring to?

Tell us you're black without telling us you're black. Seriously, dude, what a ridiculous rant.

I’m not interested in playing statistics frick-frick games with you. I’ve been going to NYC for five decades now. It’s a shittier place than it used to be, cherry picked parameters don’t mean squat.

If everything is so great, why let this bother you?

What's going to happen when the chick wins the mayor race?

wow
you really are mentally ill and unable to see things objectively due to brainwashing. You will come back with a smartass remark...but you are the only one that can't see it. Large inner cities, medium, small, all have been destroyed when minorities take over. Crime is rampant, hell, these days they just mug you or kill you in broad daylight, on major streets, with little worry about the consequences. At least in the old days, you knew to stay away from the back alleys. Now, it doesn't matter.

which one? ?
Try Bienville or Iberville from Claiborne to Norman C Francis. Or Conti in the same area.

It's not just big cities; It's smaller ones too. The Monroe neighborhood I lived in the first five years of my life looks like the set of Boyz in Da Hood now.

I'm hearing this talking point a lot from the Leftists recently, this idea that "things were never good" so it's ok that things aren't good now. SFP and others have used this same tactic. It's interesting because it's like you guys think we can't accurately remember the way things were in the past, but somehow YOU can.

Headed out to work and don’t even have time to start with this post. It ignores the 75 plus percent of these cities that is absolute hood and ignores the ghetto overflow of these cities into once tranquil suburbs and nearby country towns over the past 30-40 years. Laughable.

New Orleans seems a lot better off than rock bottom from
2020-2022. Doesn’t have the same energy that it did 10 years ago but I think that’s largely the post-Katrina optimism wearing off.
OP’s thread seems about six years late. I can’t think of many large cities where its downtown core is better off now than it was pre-COVID. Anecdotal to Houston, but I think a lot of the DINK spending is wearing off as the economy struggles. Lots of coffee shops, restaurants, and bars/breweries have been closing.

Downtown St. Louis was around 30% last time I saw data.
To the extent that violent crime hasn’t risen, there’s no one down there to assault.
