First, RIP Dolly.
Second, I’ve never seen this movie before but I wish I hadn’t. It’s feminist communist propaganda.

Well, it does have Jane Fonda starring in it.

ABC played it the week Dolly died. I’d never seen it, either, so I decided to finally watch it. I made it about a third of the way through before I quit it. Terrible.

Member that time Dolly decided to play a doctor and pushed the vaccine on millions of her followers?

Remember when she came out with “Vaccine” to the tune of “Jolene”?
She’s still an icon in my book, but her COVID vaccine push was pure propaganda.

I prefer to remember Dolly from her true classic movie “Smokey Mountain Christmas”. Mountain Dan was the best.

Hence why I don’t have a single f to give that she died.

Virologist Jennifer Anniston is doing a remake. I guarantee you it will be unwatchable.

Dolly helped bring a transgender story to the screen
Dolly helped bring a beautiful trans story to life.
Parton wrote "Travelin’ Thru“ for Transamerica, the 2005 film about a transgender woman traveling across the country with the son she had only recently learned existed.
The film’s casting of cisgender actor Felicity Huffman in the central role would later draw criticism, but Parton’s song became an anthem about transformation, uncertainty and finding the courage to continue forward.
“Travelin’ Thru” earned Parton an Academy Award nomination for best original song. She performed it during the 2006 Oscars, bringing a song written for a transgender story to one of the world’s largest stages.

Dolly supported women in power, including Hillary.
Parton did not merely tolerate her queer fan base. She celebrated it.
“I have a huge gay following, and I’m proud of them,” she told The New York Times in 2016. "Sometimes some of them look more like me than I do."
Plus, she supported then-rumored presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
"Hillary might make as good a president as anybody ever has... I personally think a woman would do a great job. I think Hillary's very qualified," Parton said, adding. "I'll certainly be behind her."
10 times Dolly Parton cemented her status as an LGBTQ+ icon

It was 'comedy'. Of course, this was after One Day at a Time had come out, and during the time when there was a full court press on passing the E.R.A.
Thankfully, it failed in 1982.

I watched it on HBO when it came out, I was a kid. The only good thing about the movie was the fatass ugly drunk coworker they had, and that wasn’t even entertaining really

This ^^^^^^. Automatic disqualify-er on movie selection for me. Dolly could have been fully nude but if Hanoi Jane is in it, I ain't watchin.

I respect her as an artist.
But her music is boring.
