Death should be used as a punishment. Not to take innocent life. I find that very consistent
Yet we do in fact kill the innocent on death row.

Assistance in dying has a slippery slope problem. I think most people would agree that someone at end stage terminal disease should be able to access high dose morphine on their own terms.
Agree. I am against that as well. No need to argue.

Yet here we all are, on a forum and you keep responding.
You care a little.

But by knowing innocent people are indeed killed on death row here and you have no intention of stopping that, means yeah...you kinda do want innocent people killed.
How common is it for an innocent person to be executed?
You know what is a perk of executing certain criminals? It is final. "Life in Prison" doesn't always mean just that... there's a thread on here about some serial super molester/child rapist that was supposed to serve the rest of his life in jail but that has been released to prey on little kids again.
There's a kid out there, right now, that will soon be this man's victim because of the current trend of mercy to the convicted rather than prevention of crime or mercy to victims.

You seem to not understand the most important inherent value to forums like this that while TD is large to a degree its still small enough to where it is a fairly closely tied community at least for us OGs here.
To clarify, there are many people who post here I respect and care about their opinions.
Youre definitely not one of them though. I have no idea who you are and never recall seeing you post anything

Isn't one just one too many? I mean, everyone here has already clearly stated they do not want government killing innocent people.
Or do we?

BS. This is just a place for a junkie to bitch early in the morning.

Same, but your posts do seem overtly angry.

In a perfect world, yes.
We do not live in a perfect world and wrongful executions are rare.
People die unfairly every day. It's a part of the human condition.

Canada: we have free healthcare to treat cancer and such, or you could just go take these death pills and we will bury you in a tree

I agree.
Honestly, both death penalty as well as this topic are not as easy as the OP makes it out to be.
On the surface I am pro-death penalty and anti-assisted death. But am I really if I dive into it?
Knowing that innocent people die on death row means a lot to me, but damnit many criminals deserve that punishment. I am glad it is reserved as much as it is here and we are getting much better with forensics.
My father however, was a PE and was why I became an engineer. My mother already passed due to complications that come with alzheimer's. It honestly wasn't as bad for her as it was for most. My father however, has zero quality of life. It is actually torture for a person, as smart as he was, to have alzheimer's. They are always smart enough to know something is wrong, but can never understand what. Memory care visits are torture. The advanced patients are just shells, living 5 seconds at a time. Most of his time is spent crying, trying to figure out what is wrong.
I would never allow assited death for him, but for me....frick yeah, do not let me get that way. I want no part of it.

Thou shall not kill.
While I am not on team assisted suicide, that is a pretty dumb angle invoke biblical language.
Unless you are part of some fringe religious cult, we all condone killing people.
Military action protecting our freedoms
Death penalty
Protecting your family from other persons.
Thou shall not kill does not apply to governments, just individuals choosing the path they want to live.
Once again, I think government assisted suicide is very much wrong. Not for biblical reasons however

In all honesty, if I don't die suddenly from a heart attack or stroke, this is probably how I'll go. If I'm in chronic pain or have some terminal illness with no chance of improvement, why prolong the inevitable when there's no longer quality of life?

There’s a strong moral argument to overthrow their government. We have toppled governments for way less
Hard to justify overthrowing another country’s government for this when several states in our own country have MAID laws.

Sure. Do you condone killing people who have a mental illness?

Also why are 95% of them white?
White liberalism is a mental illness?
Seems their government recognizes this, and are willing to do something about it.
I cannot imagine anything more mentally ill than to be 8n your 20s and begging your government to put you out of your misery. There's all kinds of argument to be made that the Canadian government shouldn't comply, but the ultimate decision is upon the individual.

As a supporter of medically assisted suicide, I will remind you that this is the 10th leading cause of death in the good old united states. If you break it down by age, the picture gets much worse:
2nd leading cause: People ages 10–34.
4th leading cause: People ages 35–44.
5th leading cause: People ages 45–54.
2nd leading cause: People ages 10–34.
4th leading cause: People ages 35–44.
5th leading cause: People ages 45–54.
