They also think we can tax our way out of debt and make everyone “equal”.

They said we couldn't deport our way out of illegal immigration, but we're in the process of doing that.

What they really mean when they say those things is that they don't want that solution (possibly any solution).

Since 1970, the prison population has increased by 500%

Do you suspect the crime rate increased or decreased proportionately?

The war on drugs was stupid and contributed a lot to that

Violent criminals get way too many chances

First offenses for violent crimes and theft should be extremely severe and you'll see shite change fast

They need their foot soldiers to spread terror so they’re not gonna lock em up.

We can certainly make things better by trying. It has worked before in the US, before all the bleeding vaginas shortened or eliminated minimum sentences and started up the cashless-bail and other bullshite.

And for the record, it seems to be working pretty well in El Salvador, too. Nobody wants to go to prison over there. All these gang members in the US already have their homies and their networks in place within the prisons, so it's just 3 hots and a cot to them.

Start bringing the fricking hammer down hard on violent thugs, put them away for life or execute them, and the message will resound pretty clearly. Right now, the little homies know that the OGs will be out in a few years to resume business as usual. What happens when the OGs aren't coming back, period? A lesson is learned through example, and a negative influence is permanently removed from society.

As if most violent crime is premeditated. (That sounds snarky but it’s not meant to be).

Mass incarceration worked for Bill Clinton and Joe Biden.

Probably 3-5% of the population commit most crimes. I say lock them away.

Well, the worst ones should just be put to death. The less we have of murderers and rapists, the better off we are.

classic legal training sez people go to prison for three reasons

Punishment for harming some part of society

Removal from society for society's safety

Provide an opportunity for rehabilitation.

The judge that turned loose the dude 72 times to douse a person with gasoline addressed none of those three and should be disallowed from ever doing work other than cutting grass.

That’s not the responsibility of the CJ system. It’s in the name, “Justice”

They are right. Far too many are sociopathic and essentially unfixable for the duration. Outside of the 'El Salvador' model of prison. And Jihadist Islam is very dedicated to their World Caliphate Cause.

A lot of people realize that there must be a thinning of the herd, though few will speak it and many more can't face it. The Left believes that the Right must go away, and vice versa. Not that any of this is outside of the historical norm.
