What ever happened to putting in an honest days work and not complaining. Poll after poll show millennials and younger favor unions to “protect” them against their employer. People just don’t want to work hard anymore.

I'm pretty sure complaining about work has been around since work began.

The cost of goods is going crazy and wages aren’t rising. The climate is ripe for union talk and expansion.

I hate unions and feel they have far surpassed their true usefulness of competitive wages and safe working conditions. However, growing up with a dad that was in the corporate world and seeing how at every poor quarter or 2 in a row, the company would absolutely slash frontline personnel while CEO’s and c suite executives made millions in bonuses and stock awards because they “cut cost” for the quarter, and now that I’m living in the corporate world and am seeing how middle to upper management are not about people, achieve, technology, or even a job well done but rather about nothing but money, I could see how many younger people would want the protections of unions.

Eta
We should be encouraging more mom and pop style small business around blue collar work. This is how you avoid talk of unionization as well as corporate machines. Make it easier for people to start business.

I’m so thankful that I don’t have to work in union plants anymore.

It effectiveness of the left’s efforts to turn our education system into political indoctrination camps cannot be denied.

It’s not by accident that each successive generation is more “educated” than the last but at the same time more stupid than the generation before.

Going through a massive layoff right now and watching the incompetent leadership, a union could do well in my situation.

Well, I’m generally against unions….however, I just got my annual raise at work and it wasn’t nearly the 15% that the cost of living rose last year…just sayin.

This is definitely true.

But you need to have your head buried deep in the sand if you don’t see the wage stagnation over the past 40 years have been brutal and crippling.

Also a lot of crappy employers out there.

I wouldn't vote for a union right now because my company doesn't suck.

My last employer did suck (They bought the employer before that.) I would have voted for a union there. Which is also why I left.

Don't worry, when most workers are unionized amd the unions can't give what the workers need, the federal government will be there to tale over it all.

Protect them from what?

Do industry group get to collectively set wages artificially low? Pretty sure that’s illegal. What’s the difference here? There are no longer any relevant employee protections not already covered by law.

Really? A company will screw an employee in a minute. You ain’t nothing but a number bud. Upper management gets bonus as the lay your arse off. If you think the 1900’s won’t come back, give corp/companies all the power and see what happens. You people can’t be this stupid.

Perhaps because we can't fricking afford to increase wages. I'm struggling to make payroll, literally dipping into my personal savings to make payroll on a weekly basis now for about 4 months, while payroll expense is exponentially higher than any other COG on my P&L. I also barely pay myself anything. So you tell me, continue the status quo or close my doors, no one has a job anymore and I pivot into the next chapter in life.

fricking tell me what the right call is here.

They literally endorsed a president that killed thousands of union jobs with the stroke of a pen as his first line of business.

He turned his back on rail workers during their negotiations.

He’s pretty much delivering a massive “frick you” to the UAW with this EV mandate bullshite.

But they all line up, rank and file, to endorse the very people creating runaway inflation through ridiculous policies. Then, when they get a raise, it’s not nearly enough to keep up. In fact, by the time the increased insurance premiums are factored in, the “raise” actually didn’t help at all.

Unions endorsing Democrats is the problem. They should remain politically neutral and use whatever clout they claim to have as leverage with all political officials.

Teamsters make some pretty good money when you get that seniority.
