All of these flags are related to the confederacy. Mississippi should just go with the Bonnie Blue Flag, and tell their black population it's the Somalian Flag. Problem solved.

No. That part of the flag is not just a Texas thing.
There is evidence that Texas got the lone star aspect of it's flag from the lone star flag of the West Florida Republic (1810). A lone star in a blue field was a thing before Texas became a state and adopted it into it's state flag.

Yep, that has been a symbol of rebellion and independence for hundreds of years.

Mississippi's black population isn't making a deal about this on a whole. Hell plenty of blacks in Mississippi display the actual Confederate flag in different ways.

Until they figure out who Stennis was.

Well the creator which I think is his grand or great grand daughter came out the other day and has renamed it the "Hospitality Flag" to remove Stennis's name because he was a segregationist.

Just another example of people sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong. The south has far less racism than these so called liberal utopias up north. Rural folks of all colors are by far the nicest people on the planet.

I figured as much, I just wanted to make the Somalia reference.

As usual, this is a coordinated attack by outsiders who have no connection with or love for Mississippi.

Yeah you’re not so far ahead. Also NE MS. You must be from Corinth or Iuka if they were making you salute the state flag at all not to mention all the way until middle school. Still nobody just a few years behind you ever did and we’re from the same area which is why I found the sentence strange in an otherwise standard statement.

When you’ve surrendered everything that makes you unique and worth remembering. Then, then they will be finished.

I'm not a resident there, but I really don't care for the 3rd pic with the magnolia tree .. looks like a cartoon. I LOVE magnolias .. wish it was a better representation.

I like the rough edges of it. It makes me imagine the flag being made by the hand of the best craftsman in a young territory.

I submit this suggestion. The red/navy side for OM, Maroon/White for State. The 49-50 is Mississippi's rank in everything.

As a Virginian you probably understood that Jefferson was a pariah and horrible person but your privilege blinded you. Don’t worry comrade our collective farms have no such issues.

Yeah I was a little South of you in Amory.

Wasn't trying to be argumentative - just wanted to point out that Ligon's statement was true. Its still state law and was reconfirmed as recently as 2018. I don't know anywhere that does it now.
