Kansas has CLOSED party primaries. Unaffiliated voters cannot vote in party primaries but can vote for ballot initiatives. This explains the vote totals.

I skimmed, but did not really "analyze," the document. My VERY quick review seems to indicate that Dr. Neuhaus was referring patients to Dr. Tiller for abortions under the "post 22-week exceptions," but that she was not adequately confirming and/or documenting the applicability of those exceptions.

Correct. And when you get into the weeds a little bit, some of her evals were dated after the abortion procedures.

Any unaffiliated voter can declare their party affiliation on the day of the election and receive a party ballot. Otherwise you are correct.

Something is up in Kansas, but the wording of that issue was terrible. They used wording to confuse the issue. It’s what the Dems do, like spending s bunch of you money and call it an inflation reduction bill, or planned parenthood, when it’s killing your family off…

The wording of the ballot measure was hyper confusing. If you read the measure, the wording seems to mean the exact opposite of the actual effect. Only people who were actively involved and educated on the pro-life side understood the measure. The ballot measure was an intentionally confusing circuitous legal-word salad

Someone posted the wording last night. It was a mess.

These amendment questions are always written confusing as fk. This is not a sim it's tested in think tanks. They know half the folks don't research and just read the confusing shite and pick the wrong response.

RA'd to request we change the name to the Political Rant to align with the other boards where people win or cry about cheating.

If one starts with an understanding that the Kansas Supreme Court has already ruled that the state constitution guarantees a (limited) right to abortion, the ballot language was not even remotely confusing.

Lacking that knowledge, the language would probably have seemed baffling.

That is probably part of the problem with the ballot language in this case (and many, many others). The people who write it ARE familiar with the issues, and it never occurs to them that they should test the language upon others.

Sometimes people just think voting for a principle is more important than voting for politicians.
