Fighting a literal horde of hyped up military-age males, without weapons of your own is a sure fire way to end up deceased.
Saw a video earlier of a guy in the street trying to oppose them and he appeared to catch a knife in the neck and dropped like a sack of bricks.

This thread prompted me to do a deep dive into Spain’s colonial history in Africa. My maternal grandfather was Spanish, and many of my ancestors came from the Canary Islands, just off the coast of Morocco. I knew Spain had an interest in Morocco, but I had no idea Ceuta even existed.
That sent me down a rabbit hole. Spain spent centuries establishing and defending footholds along the North African coast, fought wars to expand its influence in Morocco, occupied northern Morocco as a protectorate from 1912 until Moroccan independence in 1956, and still retains Ceuta and Melilla today. Ceuta itself was seized by Portugal in 1415 and later became Spanish territory.
Ceuta is kind of like Africa’s Israel.
