The "He Wasn't Bothering Nobody" Defense

The Karmelo Anthony defense by his supporters will be the exact same thing we saw in other cases:
'Karmelo wasn't bothering anybody...when all those boys came up to him.'
Travel back in time with me: Mike Brown or whatever his name was in Ferguson, Missouri. On video assaulting a shop owner. Straight up shoved the guy down.
All we heard for months...gentle giant. As awesome as the day is long. Not doing shite to folks.
George Floyd....never met a pregnant woman he didn't want to kick in the belly. Again, guy was just a joy to be around. Give you the shirt off his back....if you had some fent, my boy!

Except it was pretty clear he was bothering people. He was invited to leave a tent he wasn’t invited to repeatedly, but wouldn’t.

Black people will always, always find a way to justify the behavior of their own. Even when it’s clear cut murder. The biggest crime to black people is other black people who go against the hive and think independently.

If this stabbing had happened earlier in my lifetime we’d be referring to Melo in the past tense.
