I work in a long term care facility on a consulting basis; I go weekly. I’m unvaccinated .. I have to test weekly and wear an N95. Whatever. But I was given a 30 day notice twice until they realized that they couldn’t find anyone to fill my position.
Now we have residents who if they’re not boosted when admitted have to quarantine for 10 days even after a negative test upon admission. 10 days of meals, therapy, everything in their room. They leave for a doctors appointment and that’s it one is scheduled during their first 10 days.
It’s absolutely ridiculous.

After about a week she finally called the ambulance. When they got to him his oxygen saturation was nearly 50. That’s 5 0.
He was admitted and eventually put on a vent. He got off of the vent and had a feeding tube put in .. died a few days after he got off the vent.
He wasn’t older than 55 and as far as I know he was in decent health — not heavy at all. I blame his wife for not hauling his arse to the doctor. (Side note — she and the kids are living super large)

Did you see that CMS has said that state surveyors don't have to be vaccinated to enter any nursing home?
