The British Navy is much more capable, albeit smaller, than the Russian Navy. The British and French Navies combined are definitely more capable than the Russian Navy.

Only until the French surrender....

The combined navies of France and England are still smaller than the much more modern Russian navy

The Dogger Bank incident (also known as the North Sea Incident, the Russian Outrage or the Incident of Hull) occurred on the night of 21/22 October 1904, during the Russo-Japanese War, when the Baltic Fleet of the Imperial Russian Navy mistook civilian British fishing trawlers from Kingston upon Hull in the Dogger Bank area of the North Sea for Imperial Japanese Navy torpedo boats[1] and fired on them, also firing on each other in the chaos of the melée.[2]

Two British fishermen died, six more were injured, one fishing vessel was sunk, and five more boats were damaged.[3] On the Russian side, one sailor and a Russian Orthodox priest aboard the cruiser Aurora were killed by friendly fire.[3] The incident almost led to war between the United Kingdom and the Russian Empire.[4] An international commission of inquiry based on the Hague Convention was set up and Russia voluntarily paid compensation of £66,000 to the fishermen

The Royal Navy is more modern and more capable of sustained global operations than the Russian Navy. The Russians have a substantial advantage in number of submarines and long range missile capabilities. If a fight broke out in the North Atlantic or the English Channel and it's the Russians vs both the British and the French, the Russians lose.

Also, if anything were to happen I would imagine the US would immediately withdraw from NATO.

You must not have paid attention as of late. The British could only get one ship out of port and had to borrow a German destroyer to attend a EU naval exercise.

Escorts in maintenance was their issue. And they could have sent more, had the mission dictated it. They have carriers they could send and also aircraft carriers.

Readiness is an issue for them for sure. But again, even if they were to go at it with the Russians they wouldn't be going it alone.

The overall numbers are very similar. Each side could put about 250 vessels into an effort. But the British and French Navies are more modern and more capable for global operations.

UK seized a shadow fleet tanker in the Channel recently. This is retribution for that.

There's been a fair amount of tit for tat going on lately. The tanker seizure was a bit of an upgrade in the level of provocation. I doubt this will be the last of it.

The UK gave away navy vessels to Brazil just to save money on upkeep …and now they’re inquiring about purchasing them back.

I believe they borrowed a destroyer from Germany.

The way they hate individual freedom and love heavy socialism, they might as well let Russia have the reigns

And if they hadn't done this they would have an even bigger advantage. The numbers are the numbers, regardless of anything they may have given away or sold off.
