re: U.S. assets damaged in Iran War

Not sure how we'll ever recover from that. We might have to increase taxes by 25 cents per year for most Americans. Wouldn't mind having back the $1B worth of equipment we gave the Taliban. That would have helped.

Thank you for taking my call, Paul, after being on hold for 27 hours and 39 minutes I just want to say that LSU never played professional players while some other teams in the the conference did. What do you think about that, Paul?

I do miss the days that 20 year olds were allowed to laugh at something hilarious and not get persecuted for it.
I guess Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor, and Eddie Murphey would be burned at the stake in today's environment.

re: White House Weighs Defense Production Act as U.S. Refineries Maxed Out

Hell, we’ve seen oil trade at higher prices per barrel before and it not be this high at the pump. Where is that extra money going?
quote:
Well the price per barrel of oil is just one input.
No offense, but this is horse shite.
The refineries running at capacity+ means that the supply of oil is not an issue. They are obviously getting all they can use. This makes all the stories about the "strait this" and the "strait that" just hogwash. There is plenty of oil flowing.
The fact that the refineries are recording record breaking profit margins means that the cost of the oil is also not a problem. No company makes record profit margins when their raw materials costs are rapidly rising. They are most definitely not overpaying for the oil.
So if the supply of oil is not a problem and the cost of oil is not a problem, then where is the problem?
The only possible scenario is that somebody is buying a shitload of refined products from U.S. refineries that wasn't buying it before. I offer as exhibit "A", China.
I've been reading stories for months how global economists have been mystified how China has been able to slash their oil imports by as much as 60-70% for the last 6 months with no impact to their economy. Some theorist say they must have had a giant reserve somewhere, but there is no evidence of this. Other theorist say they must have massively gone "Green" and don't need oil anymore, which is idiotic. I think the most obvious answer is that they're buying refined diesel and gas from the U.S.
This smells like something that Trump and Xi worked out a long time ago to keep them out of the Iran conflict.
America and LSU Football both have the same problem.
Posted by Doak Walker on 9/9/26 at 9:55 pm
They both have a leader who could potentially bring them to historic dominance, but who can't keep their mouth shut long enough to do it. I can't believe Trump just said "America is not for sale" and "We'll give $5,000 to everyone who votes Republican" in the same speech.
This is very surreal.

25% chance they suck up to the SEC and fire Kiffin.
25% chance they tell the SEC to pound rocks and keep Kiffin.
50% chance Kiffin bends the knee to Sankey and they bury the hatchett.

that he was the undisputed master of the transfer portal and how he can gell guys so quickly. I think that's not only accurate, but it reeks of being a great NFL coach and GM. I've always thought that Kiff's greatest attribute was putting together a great staff. Again, another attribute of a great NFL coach.
I think the time is right for him to dip his wick in the NFL again. He could immediately erase all of this negativity, and I really think he could put Belichick to shame given the chance.

There hasn't been a peep out of Baton Rouge in 3 days. Kiff hasn't gone that long without a post in 7 years.
So, they are either confidently sitting back on their laurels thumbing their nose at the rest of the conference and waiting to see what happens,
or,
they're negotiating a settlement with Kiff.
Time will tell.

I'm still pissed off that Wesley Hunt didn't get any consideration from the Texas voters. I like him, but it doesn't matter now.
Paxton is a womanizer and a crook, and yet he's 10 times better than the alternative. That in itself makes me angry, but if we put this commie feggot freak in office, I may go postal.

The only way I can make sense of it is that Sankey believes that Kiff conspired with LA gov't officials to circumvent the conference rules. If he let's it slide, all state schools would start doing it.
I still think this is just a shot across the bow, but it's definitely live ammo.

How many barrels of oil went through the strait yesterday, 747? You seem to have a toll booth out there counting them. Maybe you can tell us how many kilos of cocaine went through the Caribbean last month. Perhaps you could enlighten us on how much Fentanyl was routed through the Philippines in August.

The fatal flaw of representative democracy is that anyone with enough money can just buy government officials.
This is absolutely correct, but the biggest point you're missing is that under our system, there are a lot of people with enough money. Those people with money come from all walks of life and all have differing points of view and want different things. Through 250 years of this experiment, the majority of these "people with money" have paid for what's best for Americans who wanted more opportunity to make money.
The Socialists are the exact opposite. They don't want normal people to have any money. Socialism in it's purist form, Communism, ensures that nobody has any money. That way, the ruling party is a monarchy and only the people "in the club" can enjoy more than a subsistence living. "The Club" is thus controlled by it's leaders and is no different than a Royal Family in the middle ages.
As you said, humans will always be humans, and many will always be looking to take advantage of others.
Capitalism and a Representative Democracy has been the only system in human history that gives the majority of the people an opportunity to increase their economic standing through their own volition.
Every born American has an opportunity to make enough money to buy a politician. We are one of the few countries on earth where this is possible.
