Well if you can get past the OP lens of looking at everything in the next 30 minutes, you can see that the long term strategy is to get beyond the dick measuring phase and get to the phase of people actually eating food and buying shite. In that world, the Iranians will need to rejoin the economic community and stop literally blowing up trade.
I've never been a good guesser at how long people can hold their breath, but at some point everyone has to come up for air. When that happens, trade will resume and it will be like none of this ever happened.
Well, except for that little fact that the people on the inside of all of this on both sides will have a few billion extra dollars.

She will get the respect she deserves in my neighborhood.

None that I can think of. Seems like they had exactly the same amount of experience before being elevated. They both were named HC under the exact same circumstances. They both inherited the exact same talent. They both had the exact same environment in their first few games. You nailed it. No differences at all.

I read this thread earlier this morning and thought it was one of the more interesting I've seen on the board in a while. I waited to let some comments materialize to see if others had the same thoughts I did. I'm shocked at the lack of self-awareness from you guys. Almost all comments have been misguidedly directed at the educational institutions.

Almost all the posters on this board are parents, and we've told our kids all their lives how great they were at everything they ever did, which is to say everything we could possibly pay for them to do. They were the best athletes, the best artists, the best gymnasts, the best scholars, the best poets, the best musicians, etc., etc., etc.

Society has been merit based for the entirety of human history... until us. WE decided that accolades and achievement were no longer related to ability. EVERYONE deserved to be the champion.

And where did that get us? Let's take a look.

Prior to the 1990s, when you weren't that great a sports, you lost, and you realized other people were better than you. It was a tough lesson, and the vast majority of people realized they needed to find another way to succeed. I would say this was the case in almost every endeavor previously mentioned. It was painful, but it made you work harder. It was reality. It's what made us all who we are, and it drove us to make money in our careers, whether we were well-educated or not.

Somewhere in the 1990s, we started teaching our kids that they were always winners, no matter the outcome of the events. Fast forward to adulthood when they're out on their own and reality finally sets in:
"I'm good at everything I've ever done. I did everything I was supposed to do at school. Companies should be lining up to pay me big money for a job."

When that doesn't happen, it can't possibly be their fault. The fault is with the system. It has to be a problem with the system.
"This system is broken and we need a new system. I think this Bernie Sanders guy has some good ideas."

And that's how all this happened. We did it to ourselves.

With all the public money we spend on Federal law enforcement, how in the frick are we dependent on Nick Shirley to uncover fraud? This makes no sense. We should dismantle the entire Federal law enforcement system and start over.

What in the ever loving frick is up with this board's infatuation with Candace Owens. I was blissfully unaware of her existence until her name started appearing in every 3rd of 4th post. J D Vance doesn't get this much press.
