"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

They also didn't think everyone should vote, or that everyone was even smart enough to be trusted to vote. Another W take by the founders.

They also wouldn’t have supported perpetual involvement in the Middle East

Yep. We're pretty screwed. We are a nation of stupid people who have rejected our founding principles and imported incompatible belief systems via people who want nothing more than to destroy our freedoms and bear no allegiance to the country that welcomed them.
We are Rome.
We are Rome.

You act as if the voters just rejected some small government conservatives. Trump was doing nothing to slow down our reckless spending or foolish foreign policy.

Now do his words in the Treaty of Tripoli!

This is why I realistically dont see a way forward long term. If we truly acted as a federal system...sure. Alabama and California are like Poland and France. They should not be the same country

They wouldn't have supported perpetual involvement anywhere, but even someone like Jefferson, who was extremely dovish, refused to pay bribes to the barbary pirates which resulted in war very early on in the country's history.

Yes, they believed that only white male property owners should vote.
If that never changed, we would have gone through multiple violent revolutions since, and none of you bitching today would exist because your ancestors would have been beheaded in one of those revolutions.

That's exactly what the voters did. Trump had already shrunk the government by 12%. We needed more Republicans to go further than that, not fewer.
Like I said, we are a nation of stupid people.

Yet we were still spending as if we weren’t $40 trillion in the hole.

Don’t forget the $5000 handouts if we won

Again, we need more Republicans to fix this, not fewer.

We need conservative republicans. I don’t see many running that aren’t interested in handouts or war. Do you?

You are a Ms guy. How can you be that blind?
Let's go at it this way. How does a freako and any DSA candidate win in the primaries?
Freako in Tx...etc. how?
Its pretty simple. When a candidate like these are voted for and get on the ticket its a result of what the population has already accepted and agrees with.
Now, why would the Bush Family and the establishment GOP in TX back Freako? Just to punish Trump?
No. Its because they are ok with the things these people promote.
This isnt a Trump Issue. This is a national issue that our voters do not understand.

So let’s vote blue.
There are only 2 choices when you vote.
Every politician or President will have problems that we don’t agree 100% of the time but we need to maintain the core principles our founders envisioned.
The democrats core principles have left them by installing radicals all over the place.

I always get a kick out of libertarians, who frame things as "do you place trust in the state, or do you place trust in the people?" to make decisions.
Hell, I laugh at that, because I don't trust either one!
Now, if we're talking about the American populace of say, 75 years ago, 100 years ago, 125 years ago? Yeah, I'd defer to the populace with ease. But with the current mix of entitled dregs and decades of invasion by foreign cultures, I don't have one iota of confidence in the modern American public in anything other than their desire to destroy everything I value.

Very good take.
The politicians who are coming after our freedoms are supported by secularists and hedonists.
The other W take was Madison, who said we need the Bill of Rights because it would bake those rights into the political culture and serve as a buffer against future politicians who will inevitably try to take away those rights.

Yes actually. There were a ton of them. They lost. Now we'll never get that opportunity again. Republican voters told Republicans that's not what they want.
