The fix is in: Mormon exclusion from Christian list has been 'corrected'

The 'correction' was made by removing the 'Christian' designation from preceding the other denominations. How you view this 'correction' is strictly between you and God.

The Pentagon announced Friday that it had recategorized a list of known religious faiths, whittling the number of affiliations down from over 200 to just 31, excluding the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Christian denominations.
The previous list had categorized Christian groups in the format 'Christian - Baptist,' 'Christian - Catholic,' and so on, but the label 'Christian' did not precede the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The new list issued by the Pentagon notably does not apply the label 'Christian' to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but by way of an apparent compromise, it removes the prefix from all denominations.
Senator Mike Lee of Utah, who said that he discussed the matter with Trump, welcomed the news, writing on X: 'I agree with this statement, and am grateful to [Pete Hegseth] for correcting the error.'

Trash. Should not be changed. It certainly wasn't "corrected"...Shame on Pete if he was responsible for changing it.

I mean, if the definition of “Christian” is “one who worships Jesus Christ” ; then yes Mormonism is a form of Christianity . However, if we are defining Christian as also including the Holy Trinity , ok, that’s different.

Former Utah Congressman and current Fox News commentator Jason Chaffetz was also among the prominent Republicans who criticized the Department of War (DOW).
'DOW needs to correct the record. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints truly are Christians,' Chaffetz posted on X on Sunday evening.
'I happen to be a member, and first and foremost, I believe in Jesus Christ. We are Christians,' the former Congressman added.
Fellow GOP Senator John Curtis, who is also a Mormon, wrote on X: 'Latter-day Saints are among the most patriotic, service-oriented individuals in our country. They are also unequivocally Christian—just look at who is in the name of the Church.'

Muslims believe in Christ.
Mormons believe in Christ. But they don’t believe Christ is God. They believe they are two separate deities and the Holy Spirit is someone named Nephi and is totally separate from God and Jesus.

Just because they put Jesus Christ in the name of their religion in no way makes them Christian. They aren't. Simple as that.

Muslims believe in (some form) of Christ. They only believe he's some kind of prophet
FIFY!

And they hardly ever call God God. They always refer to Heavenly Father. Whose spouse is Heavenly Mother.

caving on Truth to save hurt feels is a bad move

Mormonism is a cult. It is not Christian. It is distinct and separate. It's false.

Oops, not a Mormon here.
And this is why Mormons avoid Sherlock Holmes at all costs. Conan Doyle mentioned this massacre in one of his Holmes stories.

Some of my ancestors cousins were on this train apparently, it was from Arkansas, and apparently the Us government lied about how many people were truly killed cause they didn’t want people trying to “get revenge” or anything.

What makes them not christian?
AI Overview
A Christian is a follower of Christianity, an Abrahamic monotheistic religion centered on the life, teachings, and resurrection of Jesus Christ

Oh no, I am sure the mormons are saddened by your lack of support.

Well, that definition is just wrong.
A true Christian is a person who has put faith and trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ, including His death on the cross as payment for sins and His resurrection on the third day. One who has a saving faith in Jesus Christ.
More than simply being a follower of... you can follow... as in attend church, even participate... without having a saving faith.

The fact that a man includes or excludes Mormons is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is what God thinks.

Mormonism is most definitely not a Christian denomination.
Christian sect would be an acceptable term IMO
ETA: By "Christian" sect I mean Christian in the world religions sense, i.e. Christian as opposed to Hindu, or Buddhist, etc.
But they are most definitely not Christian in any recognizable doctrinal sense.
Although I do agree with the poster who said that most Mormons act more Christian than most other Christian groups. I have no explanation for that, but I have observed it to be true.

I was listening to the Glenn Beck podcast today and Beck said he called Trump about this matter. Trump told him he didn’t know about it but would look into it. He contacted Beck the next day and assured him it had been taken care of. Trump said” they voted for me at a 95% clip and I’ll always take care of this group.” I’m paraphrasing Trump’s words because I don’t remember Becks exact ones.
