The FBI is lying when they said they “investigated” the YouTube Comment

Just watched the press conference with the FBI from earlier.
They stated
1. they received a tip with the username that was essentially nick cruz’s name back in September
2. they interviewed the guy who submitted the tip in Jackson Mississippi.
3. YouTube deleted the comment after the same user reported it
4. Now get this - the FBI did a “database” search of the comments from YouTube and they were unable to ascertain who the original poster was and didn’t even know which state he posted the comment
BULL
shite
Google tracks your exact location to a T when you post online if your location services are on and, if not, they can’t track your General location via your IP service provider.
The FBI made no mention of VPN and admitted the username was his actual name - so he obviously wasn’t hiding his post
And they expect us to believe they actually investigated a post made with Cruz using his real name - through google, and they couldn’t locate him?
Just say you screwed up and move on.

I think they didn't have enough evidence to get a warrant to force Google to give up the IP. That's what a former FBI agent said on the news earlier.
Could be an excuse, don't know. But he said that one comment (without a specific threat) isn't enough to get a warrant.

I guess the FISA court was too busy spying on Trump?
The FBI is known to force info when they feel it’s necessary. The bottom line is, the FBI blew it off.

Well, to be fair, they had their hands full conspiring an attempted coup of a duly elected President whose political views they disagreed with.

I thought this too, dude uses his own actual name, yet they couldn’t find who the original poster was? And the media will not question a word of this, taking the statement as ‘fact’. Bs

I thought all LE wanted to kill "We Wuz Kangs N Sheeeeiit" and were killas.
Now they are the beacons of nobility and protect us all infallible.
The media is bipolar.

The FBI is lying? Surely not. That's just crazy talk. I mean we've just had a shooting, and it's still in the news. Las Vegas? Comey?

Your use of bold font is spot on.
Keep it up baw.

What I have learned in the last few years concerning the FBI is they have a hard time identifying credible threats vs non-credible threats.
Don’t forget that Russia, not once but twice, notified the FBI about the Boston Bombers.
What good is “see something, say something” if no one follows up.

FBI = fricking Blew It

I can believe they could not find or locate him. They also couldn't find the deleted texts between Struck and Page. The Inspector General found it in one day.
I also think most agents in south FL are investigating criminals hanging out at South Beach.

Ultimately, how many craaaaazy comments are made on the internet every day?
How many agents are assigned to these?
If not the hindsight of him actually committing the crime- it’s hard to say they should dedicate a ton of time to every comment. I guess I don’t know the true statistics but offhand comments on YouTube, message boards, news articles, and so on seem like they would come in absolutely huge volume and very rare to be acted on. Of the red flags - it seems he had others more realistic to be actionable

But they responded to the tipster and met with him about it. So...

Which they would have seen if they had followed up. They went to the trouble of meeting with the guy who made the complaint, but then didn’t take a few more simple steps to research this a-hole???
