California Dems snub Sen. Dianne Feinstein for longshot rival, in 'clear-eyed rejection' of party establishment

quote:

The California Democratic Party issued a stunning rebuke of U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Saturday by decisively handing its official endorsement to state Sen. Kevin de Leon, her longshot Democratic challenger.

The move was the latest sign that establishment Democrats are facing something of a national insurgence, coming on the heels of last month's shock win by 28-year-old Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over high-ranking Rep. Joe Crowley in a closely watched New York primary.

The final vote margin was lopsided: A total of 217 delegates voted for de Leon, of Los Angeles, or nearly 65 percent of the delegates. Meanwhile, only 22, or 7 percent, cast ballots for Feinstein and 94, or nearly 30 percent, voted for no endorsement.

Party members and activists are typically more liberal than the wider California electorate that has sent Feinstein to Washington five times. Feinstein has turned skepticism from some party activists into an asset in her past campaigns.

The leaders of the National Democratic party as well as the leaders of certain state parties DO NOT REFLECT the thinking of most Democrats. The wacky left has run amok with the political parties.

Yeah, when Di Di Fy Fy -that leaks docs she should not have and blames a cold to help the party- isn't progressive left enough for them, it's bad.

There was an article out the other day saying pocahontas couldn't beat Trump; so they are pushing HRC out in some encouragement.

They've somehow gotten it into their heads that they can move left for the midterms the way the Tea Party moved the Republicans right in 2010. I anxiously await the results. This worked for them in 2006, but the Republican party was extremely deflated, led by an unpopular lame duck president and not the greatest president in history.

Democratic Party has gone full retard. The old guard is racing each other to see who can go farther left while it’s still not good enough. They’re being replaced by full on socialists

Ignoring the particulars of the race/party...Feinstein is 85. That's disgraceful to cling like that. Retire, enjoy life.

The far-left hates Feinstein, and with good reason. As she was voting for the Iraq War, her husband Richard Blum was buying URS from the Carlyle Group. Guess what company got billions of dollars in government contracts as a result of the Iraq War? You guessed it, URS. Feinstein lined her pockets with millions off the death and destruction stemming from the war she assisted in creating. She is a hideous cretin and a war profiteer who represents everything wrong with American politics.

It is honestly the only way they can be competitive in November. They have to clean house. And it might work for them.

By cleaning house they are going to have to get a lot closer to the center. Obama took it way to far left and that is not in tune with the American public.
