You mandate it and people worth $8 get paid $20. Everything goes down hill from there.
Bingo. Giving more to the “I’m owed it” crowd is a mistake bc they will then just move the goal posts to their next “owed” thing in life.

Be like Florida
We increased it from $10 to $15 . It also increases with inflation per year

Jobs worth $8 dollars inherently are for those that are at the low end -
What job do you think exists today that is worth only 8 dollars an hour?

The one where the employer offers $8 per hour for it, and a prospective employee agrees to that wage.

The real minimum wage is $0. Artificially raising wage rates leads to more people making the real minimum wage, which again is $0.

BS. We definitely loathe non-working immigrant mooches way more.

The true minimum wage is $0 and should be between the employer and employee to figure out.

The system works. Lower entry pay incentivizes youngsters who want a better life and not a handout.
Lat week I was at WM Neighborhood making small talk with male cashier. I asked how his day was he said busy. I asked if he got weekend double time pay he said no he is 17 and doesn’t work enough hours.
He then added he in an electrical apprenticeship and would be done in a few weeks and would leave WM to go full time with a company who already hired him out of it.
You see, this is what entry level should be - a temporary job that pushes you to want a better job. And its what has helped our younger generation for decades until the handout Socialists want to frick it up by raising pay mins.
All that does is cause companies to hire less people. And make them want to use an entry job as full time job. Which also fricks up real teens who want entry jobs but someone isn’’t moving on since pay is higher meaning the teen can’t move in. Its a ripple effect.
Let free market place dictate pay not some fat cat politician stealing your tax dollars to hand out to free loaders.

Our problem isn't minimum wage. It's the standard of living we've allowed the parasites to get used to through free shite. Our folks on welfare EBT Medicaid section 8 live better than 95% of the planet. That's the problem. Free shouldn't equal above average it should equal bare minimum. That would incentivize people to get off free shite and not make it a lifestyle.
Someone on here had a great quote:

Leftists don't understand basic economics. They never have and they never will.
Economic illiteracy is a feature, not a bug of leftism.

But it's a double edged sword. If you pay someone 8 dollars an hour you as the employer are setting the expectations low by what you're offering to pay.
You have to be joking, right?

When you increase minimum wage you also increase inflation. It works hand in hand. Free markets work until the government gets involved. Government/NGO intervention is what always causes the problems.

McDonald’s.
Then why are they voluntarily paying their employees more than 8 dollars an hour?
Do you know better than the local franchise owners?

You pay what the market dictates. Unfortunately the government gets involved in the markets.

Well that’s irrelevant to your question. You asked what I think is a job worth $8 an hour. McDonald’s is worth $8 to me.
But no, I don’t know or claim to know more than franchisees. I happen to know one and another for Chic fil A.
They know their business. But here’s the thing…the GOVERNMENT DOES NOT.
If those private companies want to pay $100 an hour, I don’t care at all. It’s when it mandated by the government is when shite hits the fan.
Just look at what happened in CA when they did this a couple years ago. Something like 10k jobs were lost (don’t quote me on the exact number.)

God damn you are a piece of shite and a simpleton.
You will be whining about inflation tomorrow.

Just because buccees has good leadership and gets their $20/hr out of their workers doesn’t mean it will work universally. Most people in minimum wage don’t produce the output of minimum wage.
