The story is that the group of teens were being loud and cursing loudly, etc.
I don't disagree that this CEO was an idiot in the way he handled it, but I don't think that the group of teens were just quiet, innocent bystanders who were harassed for no reason. Sometimes all parties to a confrontation acted stupidly.
The kid was gambling with house money.
The adult was gambling with his own...and he lost. Bigly.
There are ways that adults (executives, no less) should respond in such a situation - notify management, the police...this guy chose poorly.

The company has 21 employees on LinkedIn.
I’m not sure there’s a less important story out there today.

Tic-Toc the new ACLU...
Clown world.
Clown world.

Why? The kid is an abomination to society. It needs to be condemned in public whenever it presents itself.
He’ll likely suicide himself within a few years, so just wait him out.

You think he woke up today thinking he could have handled things in a better fashion? I do.
But maybe not.

All I know is what the video showed - an adult following some swishy kid around trying to trash him. Doesn't look like any crime was committed. Doesn't look like the adult was threatened or challenged in any way to warrant his response (in the legal sense). Doesn't appear to be related. That was misreported early on I think.
The reason I asked was because from what I saw in the video, and keep in mind I pretty much don't care at all, was the guy smirking while some guys off camera were talking in what sounded like 1980's stereotypical "gay" voices trying to egg him on. I saw him say the guy looked stupid.
Was just wondering what prompted the interaction at all. I'm speculating obviously, but I could imagine that prior to the video the dress guys could have come by and this guy simply stared at them or smirked and they decided to make an even bigger show and see if they could hook him because they were mad he dared not applaud them. I think that would be a different situation than a guy with no reason at all to go up and start telling a guy in a dress he looked stupid, even if he clearly did.

What was to be gained?
That's where I'm at with it. Forget about the dress and all the rest of it. What kind of adult lets a kid rope them into such a goofy situation?
A Karen.

Wrong
It's called being normal. Shut your suck..
How can you define "normal"?

Maybe he should have ordered another cocktail, suppressed his inner Karen, and minded his own business.
I'm no more thrilled about boys in dresses than most of you, but this dude shite the bed out loud.
I would hope that most executives are able to assess situations and craft responses better than this guy did.
I know most on here won’t agree with this but it’s spots on. I hope his moment of embarrassing a kid (who will probably deal with a lot in his life regardless) was worth a high salary and high position.

quote:That was his story. The company said it interviewed several witnesses. The biggest problems:
The story is that the group of teens were being loud and cursing loudly, etc.
1) in the recording, he is clearly following the kid who is walking away from him.
2) He committed 2 minor assaults, knocking the phone out of the guys hand once. Then when he tries to swipe at the phone a second time he winds up hitting the kid in the dress.
3) other adults are heard trying to tell him to leave the kids alone.
Normally I wouldn't consider the assaults an issue, but I have seen many a thread calling for arrests of people knocking MAGA hats off someone's head, so...

Maybe. He’s not the CEO of AT&T. He’s the CEO of an outfit the size of a restaurant in employees.

The woke crowd is getting their way through intimidation and extorsion.
Really no different than the Mafia.

Does an adult ditch digger really need to insert himself into a situation where an outwardly disturbed kid is acting like a high schooler?
Not kids breaking into cars.
Not kids spitting into peoples' faces.
Not kids damaging personal/private property.
I don't know. I just don't see what his end would be in that scenario. Other than trying appear "cool" to a group of his friends.

Oh, he was seeking attention as well.
Or the simpler answer. He found this stupid as any sane person would.

Then he should have asked himself "what is to be gained?"
Social enforcement of better behavior.
He should be applauded.
