What does that even mean? Are they saying the swim caps aren't big enough? If so, that is one of the dumbest conclusions I've ever heard. You can literally stretch those things out to fit a small person inside.
And how does society "fix" this "problem"? Black and while people have different hair textures. But last I checked, both races have roughly the same size heads

Fair point, but I think this is just the choosing of black people. Why go for Olympic swimming when you can make millions in the NFL or NBA? If I could run or jump like a black man, I wouldn't waste time with any other sport.

I learned to swim by diving in a pool one day and saying "YOLO." It's not rocket science and you don't need lessons. All you need is an able bodied person there to ensure you don't drown.

The same reason that most sprinters and strength/speed athletes tend to be AA is the same reason they dont fare well in aquatic endeavors.

The implication in that article is pathetic. I give money to the YMCA every year to teach “ underprivileged “ cough cough kids to swim. Almost every Y has a program for this purpose. Personal responsibility people . Kids can literally learn for free at thousands of places.

I still remember running a water survival event in the Army. I walked in and the shallow end is all black guys with one white guy and the deep end was nothing but white guys.

Sounds like a good opportunity for some black people to make their own swim caps. Could be lucrative as well as helpful to the people, as Capitalism generally dictates.

I met an incredibly nice gentlemen a few years back who was running a non-profit to combat exactly this in South Louisiana. I can't remember his name, but he and I had a good 10 minute conversation about is efforts to improve black community's perception of swimming in general.
This article is laced with stupidity, it just made me think of that guy doing the good work.

There might be average bone mass differences, I don't know. But I do know it wouldn't be enough to make much of a difference in learning how to swim.
It is true, though, that West Africans are the best sprinters and East Africans are the best distance runners. It is partly genetic for sure. Don't believe me? Find me a white guy or an Asian guy that can compete with Usain Bolt. Please, just one.
