You're correct. Mexico only had possession of Texas for 14.5 years: 9/27/1821 - 3/2/1836.

A battalion of British Marines would clean any Argentine Army that would try to land in the Falklands and a squadron of RAF would leave the Argentines with biplanes. The British know how to fight.

Britain would win, but...

"During the 1982 Falklands War, the British lost seven ships to enemy action, including two Type 42 destroyers (HMS Sheffield, HMS Coventry) and two Type 21 frigates (HMS Ardent, HMS Antelope). Other losses included the container ship Atlantic Conveyor, the landing ship RFA Sir Galahad, and the landing craft LCU F4. "

Instead of going to war, Britain could have resettled every inhabitant back to the UK and given them $1,000,000 each...that's 1982 dollars..and saved money.

How are they getting there? The HMS Demon couldn't even get to Cyprus without stopping for maintenance in Gibraltar. That's one HALF of their available destroyer fleet.

Not to mention the fact that the current PM doesn't have the balls Maggie Thatcher had.

The Brits don’t support us.

Why should we support them?

Truth be told, Argentina could probably take it tomorrow if they wanted it. The British Empire has fallen to 3rd world status. They barely have anything short of a shrimp boat to send there to protect it.

If I was Argentina, and wanted the Falklands, I'd take it tomorrow. England is a sad, sad, country who has waved the white flag to socialist and imports from the shitholes of this Earth.

I mean if Mexico can take and hold Texas I'd say it's theirs.

Same with Argentina and the Maldives.

Not our problem.

They hate them so much that 99% voted to remain a part of Britain.

This is the second time I've seen this quoted with no comment on what happened to the Argentian forces.

They had their airforce wiped out(85 aircraft vs35 UK planes) they lost a sub, a cruiser and various other vessels.

Their on the ground forces outnumbers the British army 2.5 to 1 and were defeated in 2 months despite holding the territory at the of the war. More than double KIA, double the casualties and the rest of their force - 11+k - were captured.

It was a clear cut victory.

They spend 0.5% of GDP on defence - 65th globally - have a massive 46 aircraft, no subs and rank 33rd globally

The Royal Navy alone have more firepower, 2.5x the planes so would have air superiority and once again win comfortably.

Nah. The UK Government has turned their backs on their own British ancestors, and on America. I'll stand with our American allies in Argentina.
