I am still waiting for someone the answer this.

I think we all know the answer.

This country is just an illusion. It's laws, It's Constitution, It's government. It's all a big illusion.
This country stopped being what it was a long time ago. The window dressing is only just now fading and beginning to show cracks. and the truth is showing. and that truth is very ugly and depressing.

So, the reason is because the appellate court feels the USSC rules too early?

He is a Biden supporter.

He doesn't believe this.

He will bootlick and white-knight for this Admin day and night.

Yesterday was pretty much all procedural with very little merits consideration. This is all happening at the level below SCOTUS for the time being. The District Court stopped the law, and the 5th Circuit stayed that order (thus allowing the law). But the stay was an administrative stay and not a more merits-focused stay, and SCOTUS ruling yesterday was narrow. Arguments are happening this AM at the 5th Circuit, so there is a good chance there will be several more ups and downs on this roller coaster and this matter could get back before SCOTUS a couple of times in various stages.

I'm a big fan of the rule of law and rational aggression. These moves by TX are neither. If you rely on an irrationally aggressive (and possibly illegal) scheme, you increase the chance of negative externalities exponentially. TX is pushing it all in pre-flop with 4-7 off.

The doctrine of Preemption means states cannot make "immigration laws".

And yet, states pass laws all the time that violate the 2A. That's pretty clear in the Constitution. As usual, you people use no common sense or consistency in your arguments. Protecting the state, and more importantly the corrupt legal system you are a part of, is your modus operandi.

Too many states are compromised (like your state of Georgia) to do a damn thing. You'd never get more than 10 states.

If it’s the legislature and not the governor, it might be more possible.

How can they claim that illegal aliens in this country have rights that fall under the protection of the constitution?

Deportation is an international system that requires 2 countries to work out procedures. Texas is not a country, and no other country is going to work with them on this issue.

I could be wrong, but to my understanding Texas will not be deporting anyone. Under SB4 illegals are arrested, photographed, fingerprinted, and given 2 choices. 1) Self-deport to Mexico or 2) Six months in jail. If they are not on any wanted, watch, or ICE lists they will be released. If caught again, they will be charged with a felony and offered the same 2 choices, except with increased jail time. SB4 is not going to stop the flow, but it does allow us to know who is in our country illegally.

However far the Federal government want to push it but I can guarantee you as stupid as this administration is, they will not be arresting LE in the State of TX...

So, if the Federal Government doesn't do anything, what happens next?
