The non white issue is for accepting non legacy applicants. You have to realize there are two different categories of students.

34 is very much in line with Ivies. It's the avg for Princeton for example. It's not about "bragging." The point is is sure as shite isn't disqualifying either.

A guy I graduated with in high school that had a mediocre ACT and GPA got into Vandy, graduated, and has been very successful ever since.
