These are the times when I believe you're a character instead of a real person.
If I had embarrassed my Dad you can believe there would have been much more serious consequences than if I hadn't.

Because your dad isn’t my mom? She was embarrassed because her brother was the chief of police. I don’t even think she was living with us (my siblings and I) at the time. Why are you feigning surprise that people are raised in drastically different environments than you were?

In the early 70's we used the library to make fake IDs due we could enlarge r shrink an image. It was easy to enlarge a driver license so we could type in a new birthdate, the shrink back to actual size then laminate (after coloring in the photo)

What I did was ridicule you for pretending that you couldn't understand the connection between the embarrassment of a parent by the poor behavior of a child and the actions that would usually follow that would affect future behavior.

It may not keep truly bad people from doing bad things, but it 100 percent keeps marginal or good kids from crossing the line.
There's a lot of kids out there that are not inherently bad, but could be led in the wrong direction. A strong father and the threat of punishment is a huge driver of staying the course.

COVID kids..... 2 years with LITTLE to NO: Instruction, Accountability, Responsibility, Parenting, Face to Face interaction, Discipline and direction.
Many of these kids did ZERO in school during KUNG FLU and got passed and will never catch up.
Talk to anyone in education and they will tell you it's bad in fact it's SOFA KING bad.
So COVID is partly to blame but so is LBJ
