This is the kind of ignorance that allows bad ideas to take over the country.

I'm always talking about people who pointlessly complain, but letting Islam thrive in a Western country is retarded.

How many gang rapes and/or honor killings do you bet they'll have?

Yep. No place for religion in politics. Let me know when Texas puts the Quran in public schools.

Private event, not big deal

Thank you for sharing your concern. Actually, this couldn't be further from the truth. A local organization is doing a buyout of our facility on June 1. A number of organizations do thie throught the year. This private event it is not hosted or organized by the waterpark. Like other city-owned facilities, Epic Waters is available for rental by community members, businesses, youth organizations, schools, or faith-based organizations. These groups regularly book our venue for birthday parties, celebrations, youth events, corporate programming, and other activities, including full-park buyouts for large-scale private or ticketed events. As with all rentals, the hosting entity, not the waterpark, determines the event’s programming. Epic Waters is for Everyone

Understanding (1) how our system of government works and (2) that I don't live or vote in Texas is hardly ignorance.

I'm not a fan of Islam, either, but given the First Amendment, I'm curious what you would do to not "let Islam thrive", as you put it.
It does seem to me that in this case the waterpark is overstepping with the "muslim-only" language, and that should leave them open for lawsuits or at least people choosing to vote with their feet and go elsewhere.
Hopefully that's what happens. But that's for people who live in the dystopian hellscape of the Dallas burbs to deal with.

Islam, the most immature of all major religions.

"Epic Waters in Grand Prairie, Texas drew outrage this week as it released fliers for the June 1 event, which will demand a 'modest dress code' and serve only Halal-slaughtered meat."
The goat frickers little shin dig was shut down yesterday by the city. It is unconstitutional.
City owned and tax payor funded, Abbott threatened to with hold funds.

why does anyone care if a bunch of moose-lambs take over the water park on a monday when anyone else can do same?
This is some of the dumbest shite I've ever seen on this board. This is a taxpayer funded park. They are not allowed to advance any religion, something that's been enforced by decades of Karen lawsuits, mostly targeting Christians.
Why would anyone care about how taxes are spent?? Come on man, if you are seriously asking that you need to go ask your local high school for a U.S. history textbook & read it cover to cover before you're allowed to post again on the /pol/ board

Can any of you imagine a Christians-only event at said park?!?
I did a lock in at six flags with a baptist church. But that was during the hours the park was closed. And there were competition cheer groups there. Maybe they had something going on but I just remember them all in their matching track suits.

It was public, but only for Muslims, hence, the flyers.
Were it a true private event, the flyer invitations to the community at large wouldn't have been necessary. "Muslim Only" wouldn't have needed saying because only muslims would have gotten the invite.
Also, I guarantee you that while I could also rent the space for a private event, if I sent out flyers that only white people were welcome... it'd also be shut down with the quickness.

Now let's see how much money the "community" sends Abbott to help him help them going forward.
Politics pays from so many angles.

"The legislature also passed a bill banning “Sharia Law” in Texas — a law Abbott pointed to when addressing the June 1 celebration, calling the event “religious discrimination” and “unconstitutional” in an X post."
