My housekeeper texted me yesterday that she doesn't feel safe leaving her house right now because police and ICE are persecuting Latino people. She has legal status. She said she can't work until this ICE stuff dies down. She lives in Kenner.
WINNING! MAGA

There are hundreds of reports of ICE harassing and detaining American citizens who appear to be Latino.
Just a bunch of el dindus I bet
quote:
Americans Detained: The government doesn’t track how many citizens are held by immigration agents. We found more than 170 cases this year where citizens were detained at raids and protests.
Held Incommunicado: More than 20 citizens have reported being held for over a day without being able to call their loved ones or a lawyer. In some cases their families couldn’t find them.
Cases Wilted: Agents have arrested about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials, for allegedly interfering with or assaulting officers, yet those cases were often dropped.
Now do a little math and try and project your and your housekeepers ignorance some more.

Awesome gaslighting for literally nothing. If she is legal, she has nothing to worry about. This is red meat fodder for liberals from the likes of CNN, MSNBC and the alphabet networks.

The only other choice gets people murdered, so you might want to consider that.
You can get murdered by American citizens as well
I can't tell you how my life will end. But I'm 100% confident it won't end in being murdered by an illegal immigrant.

Plenty of legal residents and citizens are worried about being hassled or detained by ICE and with good reason, although most of you will blame it on “fake news”. There are a lot of cases of “legal” being stopped by ICE and in a few cases detained. It’s gotten to be downright shameful and un-American, ironically.

I’ll let her know that white people in far away cities said she has nothing to worry about.

Why'd the government warn them ICE was coming? Makes no sense
Many will immediately self deport for fear of arrest.

Nice try. I live here. But you continue to stoke fear.

I’m worried about being pulled over and harassed for doing 5 over the limit every time I pass a highway patrolman.
Where is my sympathy?

It’s interesting that people who cannot relate to her at all are smugly dismissing her concerns as if y’all know the situation in Kenner. There’s no curiosity. No “why would she think that?” Just insults.
That’s the poliboard way, I suppose.

Not stoking anything. I relayed texts I got from my beloved housekeeper.

Insert any other LEO into this statement and tell me you care. Citizens get stopped and in a few cases detained who knows how many times all over the country every day.
The legal people cited in the OP article were impeding law enforcement action.

I will pay for your vacation to the Caribbean so you can get really tanned and then come back.

Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer. That includes four who were held for weeks with their undocumented mother and without access to the family’s attorney until a congresswoman intervened.

Agents can hold people whom they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. We found more than 50 Americans who were held after agents questioned their citizenship. They were almost all Latino.

Aw shucks, guess we should have "separated families" instead?

So she’s legal and has no criminal history?
Shut the hell up.
Shut the hell up.
