That’s my concern. A few more days without food or water baking in the sun will make people desperate. There is no option to go back home for a lot of these people.

That's certainly not what every video from the "airport" shows.

Eh it’s hard to say without knowing how big the airport is. The area they’re in could still be away from the actual runway and area where the US is setup.

There will be thousands of them.

US soldiers supposedly have a perimeter setup and aren’t allowing people to get close.

The videos show pure chaos with soldiers taking positions behind vehicles but everything around them is pure confusion. They seem to be protecting themselves, rightfully, more than trying to instill calm

Honestly, prepare yourselves, because this week you’re probably going to see actual Americans heads roll on camera. I pray to God I’m wrong, but with 10,000 of them over there, I can’t see it ending any other way.

How many have died so far?

There is a reason for that

Yep. Those people either get a spot on one of those planes taking off or they die. And they know it so they really have nothing to lose by doing whatever they can to get in one of those planes.

So the general vibe is they’re letting Americans evacuate?
Everyone at the airport, so far--but that's embassy folks. Little or no word on any americans that are in the city that were told to "shelter in place" and are now stuck.

What about Afghan nationals who helped Americans?
We stopped evacuating them. They're toast.

I have an answer for that: we don’t know. Wouldn’t shock me if an hour after I went to bed one popped up on Twitter.

We don’t know. There are American contractors all over and we don’t know if they’ve even made it to the airport.

OEF vet here, I am beyond sickened and disappointed to watch this unfold. We set Afghanistan up to fail.

I honestly can't figure how or why we negotiated with a terrorist organization and believed anything they said.

I can't help but to feel all the sacrifice, loss of buddies, etc was for absolutely nothing

I feel so awful for the innocent people and the nationals who helped us. Lots of folks are going to die

Thanks for the link. However, this is the only meaningful lift that you listed. The other two are just "in air" fuelers.

It is likely that very few, if any, American civilians or diplomats were outside of the Embassy. They, almost by rule, had not been outside the Embassy much lately. The Embassy has been completely evacuated, and those people are waiting at the airport (quite a few have supposedly already left the airport).

Could there be some who are unaccounted for, or worked/lived outside the Embassy? Sure. But it likely isn't a large number at this point.

If the US soldiers surrounding the strip say "We're not leaving until all of you do", there's no reason for any of them to believe that promise. Very sad.

False both the both the KC-10 and 135 can be configured to carry large amounts of passengers. I worked both jets.

So. Now that this unlimited congressionally back piggy bank is coming to an end, where are we betting the next "National Security Threat" operation going to be?
they're already lined up on $4.5Trillion in "infauxstructure". Between this and COVID, they'll have outspent the GWOT before this congresss is done.

Yeah, but this seems like it will be fully out in the open. Not much to hide the money behind right now.
