The Embassy has been completely evacuated, and those people are waiting at the airport (quite a few have supposedly already left the airport).

Our ambassador was on the first plane out.

The British ambassador called him a pussy while filling out visa's for their Afghan contractors.

People in the US are taking that for granted and we will have to fight for it again in our lifetimes.
Yep. Too bad we can't trade. We have plenty of face-cover requiring, statue destroying, authoritarian government craving people over here.

Casandra Fairbanks pointed out a really important and jarring issue with this already horrific clip: where are the women and children? I see two women and two kids in that clip. I can only imagine what’s being done to them off screen.

Sen. Cotton said his office had been contacted by Americans that are NOT at the airport and not able to get there due to Taliban checkpoints.

Thanks for the link. However, this is the only meaningful lift that you listed. The other two are just "in air" fuelers.
KC-10s have an entire deck for passengers/cargo.

I mean, I’m in amazement that people don’t realize how good Americans have it.

This is the most comfortable lifestyle through history that anyone has ever had - “oppressed” or not.

While that wouldn't be all of them, anyway, evac flights have been running all day. That list wouldn't be all-inclusive.

Not a single woman or child in that video. This is about to get extremely dark.

I’m trying to figure why all of these US citizens are there? Outside of military and embassy, what possible reason would there be for an American to be in Afghanistan?

Tracking. But I am focused on "bulk" lift. I am fairly certain they are there to keep the lift in the air. Only filling up with passengers (possibly) after they have gassed everyone else up.

You have to admit, that is a very weak lift plan. And yet, they are at the end of the line. Hard to get anything into there now.

Business opportunities. Look at any base etc here in the states. Barksdale for example...take a walk through the BX. Pizza Hut and other civi food places as well as other stores. Now multiply that 50 fold at some city like Kabul. Giant US presence means security (well, did) and opportunity for business. Lots of people here would have no problem signing a well paying contract to work overseas at these spots.

Australian Admiral chimes in:

quote:

Admiral Chris Barrie says Australia was "far too slow" to evacuate Afghans who helped Australian forces, as the capital Kabul falls to the Taliban.

"For all of those people who helped us — God help them. God help them."

This is true, with no cargo, you can stack a goodly amount of people in one.
