If the Taliban found the passports at the US embassy, it would easily identify our allies to them. That’s probably why they would do that.

Hey man, I understand that. I’ve limited my news consumption substantially in the last 1.5 years, hence no cable to watch Hamburg tonight. Just got to be too much. I subscribe to 2 independent journalist and looking to expand on that, but the regular MSM is a fricking joke. Drawback: It sucks when events like this happen where I want to hear a particular segment but I haven’t turned on my TV in a month. That’s not an exaggeration either. Not at all.

The arrival of Mullah Yaqub, the son of Taliban’s founder, from Quetta indicated developments as the Taliban are trying to prevent foreign groups from finding a base in Kabul.

That doesn't hold water when the stated plan was to actually move the Embassy to the airport. They continued their diplomatic duties there. Even tonight, a small contingency that stayed behind continue to process Visas and paperwork for Afghans and Americans currently being evacuated.
